Glossybox #1

A few weeks back, my sister mentioned Glossybox to me, and how it was a monthly subscription box bringing 5 cute beauty products to your door. When ordering my Christmas dresses from Missguided, I received a 20% off your first Glossybox code, so I thought ‘why not?’ after all; it’s something that I can blog about every month and not have to worry about going out and buying products!

My box arrived, beautifully packages, with 5 products inside:

  • Revlon Nail Enamel in Valentine
  • Collection Define and Perfect Eyebrow Powder in Brown
  • Lipcote Lipstick Sealer
  • Essence Face Illuminator Palette
  • MDM Flow Semi-Matte Lipstick in Vamp

These products come to a total of around £35, and I paid just under £12!

Since I’ve already used the Collection Brow Powder before, I won’t be using it for this blog, in fact, it’s being saved for something special – keep your eyes peeled.

I painted my nails using the Revlon Nail Enamel in Valentine and I have to say that it’s the perfect Christmas shade! Add a little glitter from Mezmeris Nail’s and voilà. The nail enamel gives a gorgeous glossy finish that’s had people asking me if it’s gel all weekend. I’ve been promised 10 chip-free days and I can pretty much guarantee that this is a promise that Revlon will keep.

So after applying my base of foundation and my eyebrows, I opened my Glossybox to use the beautiful Essence Face Illuminator Palette. I used the two darker shades as a light contour and the middle, pearlier shade I the centre for my highlight on my cheekbones and nose. I absolutely adore this as it gives a natural, effortless look and you can use it for a neutral eyeshadow look too, which is exactly what I did.

For my lips I used the MDM Flow Semi-Matte Lipstick in Vamp which is a lovely vibrant purple with pink undertones. With it being matte, it’s a little difficult to apply without it dragging a little, but once on, it looks beaut. To seal I used the Lipcote Lipstick Sealer, of which I’m not a huge fan, but loving 4/5 products isn’t bad. Whilst it does its job and makes your lips absolutely kiss proof, it smells really pungent of chemicals, so I’m probably going to give that one a miss in the future.

Overall I’ve been really pleased with my first Glossybox and can’t wait for January’s! My favourite products from this one are definitely the palette and nail enamel.

Beff xx
