19 Things I’ve Learned In 19 Years

I’m officially in my final year of being a teen, which is kind of heart breaking, but there’s still another year to go before that happens. There were a few blog posts that I was pondering about posting today, but I took to holding a Twitter poll to see what you guys wanted to read. So here are 19 things I’ve learned in 19 years, and mainly in the past 18 months.

  1. Popularity isn’t everything.
  2. You don’t need alcohol to have fun; b. it’s also not the answer to your problems.
  3. Music, however, is the answer to your problems.
  4. Life isn’t easy. Friends die young and people get sick. Refer to point 2, part b.
  5. Find someone that makes you happy and treats you the way you deserve – never let that person go.
  6. Support local culture. Musicians, artists, businesses. They’re human too, and usually pretty broke. Go to their gigs/exhibitions, buy their merch. Trust me, you’ll feel good about it.
  7. Dogs are the best secret keepers and feet warmers.
  8. It’s okay to cry. Don’t bottle it up.
  9. Pursue what you love, and don’t let anyone get in your way.
  10. A lion doesn’t lose sleep over the opinion of sheep, so don’t you lose sleep either. Not everyone is going to like you. Deal with it. They don’t matter.
  11. A good night’s sleep works wonders.
  12. Look after your skin, when you look good, you feel good.
  13. Treat yo’self. Buy that dress, eat the second chocolate bar.
  14. Not your circus, not your monkeys. If it’s not your problem, don’t get involved.
  15. Take responsibility. For something… anything. Whether it be getting a plant and being responsible for watering it or just accepting that you were in the wrong.
  16. The customer isn’t always right. Actually, the customer is usually a complete asshole. Smile, sort the issue and get them out of the store as quickly as possible.
  17. There is always room for dessert.
  18. Morning cuddles make your day 110% better.
  19. Do what makes you happy. No matter what.

Beff xx
