I love reading. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t read enough, nowhere near as much as I used to at least. In 2017 I’m going to make a conscious effort to read more, and these books are a perfect kick-starter.
The first book is the Harry Potter themed ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’. I’ve read the mini book on which the screenplay and film is based, but I haven’t actually seen the film yet! I read The Cursed Child within about 2 days, and I can’t wait to immerse myself in the world of Harry Potter once again.
Another book I received was one that I was actually going to buy my Dad for Christmas: Pocket Bowie Wisdom. It’s a little book and on each page there is a quote from David Bowie. He’s my absolute idol and his quotes are iconic. I’m hoping to tweet one every day in 2017, however there are only 80 in the book, so it will just be for the first 3 months.
I Am Here Now was a gift from my sister; a mindfulness journal to remind you to live in the now, and stop letting things drag you down. It’s designed to inspire positive thinking and relieve negative energies with its mind exercises on each page. I definitely will be needing this book as I move into 2017.
My final book was a colouring book. I find colouring incredibly therapeutic, so Mum and Dad got me The Time Garden Memory Book, which is both an adult colouring book, with intricate nature themed patterns on a lot of pages, but also blank spaces for me to do what I like, whether it be doodle, write or even stick in some photos.
