A new face.
Or at least, products to cover it up.
I love new makeup, and I won’t buy myself expensive makeup usually, but I have definitely been treated to some absolute beauts for the makeup box! A full new collection of makeup always makes me feel 10x better and gives me a whole new confidence.
I’m going to start off with my absolute favourite. When I went to Paris, I was in Sephora on a mission to get my hands on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. Out. Of. Stock. Broken-hearted, I went home. My Aunt Gill, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona, travelled across Phoenix to 12 different shops to find the palette and send it over to my Mum so she could give it to me for Christmas. Because I knew just how hard it is to get your hands on the little beauty, I appreciate the gift so much more. The colours inside are a mixture of nudes, burnt oranges and berry shades and they’re so gorgeous and pigmented! The little brush is the best I’ve used and blends the colours so well. Even the case is pretty, and incredibly tactile.
Here’s the makeup look I did on Christmas day using the palette, mainly shades Venetian Red and Vermeer.
My sister got me the Benefit Girl-A-Rama set, which it a cute little tin that includes the Pore-fessional balm, Benetint, Coralista and Rockateur blushes plus a brush, Brazen Bronze eyeshadow duo and the Rollerlash mascara. The blushes make an amazing light contour and the Brazen Bronze makes such a quick and effortless blended eyeshadow look when just sweeped on with the rounded brush together.
Little bits and bobs I got included a Bare Minerals duo eyeshadow with a dark and a light shade, so that I can create a dramatic smokey eye; a Famous Spotlight Lip Gloss in nude/pink shade; and a Famous black kohl pencil.
Sleek is my current favourite drugstore brand. It’s classed as ‘luxury’ but is completely affordable and brought out some amazing Christmas sets at Boots including the Box Of Tricks Ultimate Makeup Haul. In the box you get the Vintage Romance I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette, Face Contour Kit In Medium, Lip Vip Lipstick In Guestlist, Twist Up Midnight eye pencil, Eyebrow Stylist In Medium, Solstice Highlighting Palette, Matte Me In Shabby Chic, Full Fat Lash Mascara and Blush By 3 In Lace. The contour palette is a little dark for me, but it great to use for slightly more definition than in other places along with the Benefit blushes. The mascara is going to be great for every day so that I can save Rollerlash for night out! The highlighter palette is actually amazing, and applies really well and pigmented with a Miracle Complexion sponge. I also had the Cleopatra’s Kiss highlighter palette from Sleek, and it is equally as beautiful! So happy with this box, and I can’t wait to see what they bring out next Christmas.
