This month’s Glossybox was a Valentines edition, so I was excited to see which products I’d be receiving. The box was cute and had LOVE printed on the front and I unwrapped the tissue paper to reveal five beauty products:
- Vitamasques Hyro Face Mask
- Garnier Ultimate Blends Honey Restore Balm
- Ciate London nail polish in Fade To Greige
- La Theorie Des Volcans Noir Eternae Youth Potion Face Scrub
- Jeanne Arthes L’Eau de Rose
So as you can see there was a touch of a French theme, inkeeping with the Love theme.
The first product I tried was the face scrub. I squirted a little bit out onto the back of my hand and it was pink, which I thought was really cute for a face scrub. As I started to exfoliate, the scrub turned from pink to a dark grey, which I assume to be the mask detoxifying my skin – I love when you can really see products working.
I then used the Hydro Face Mask which was a little different to the tissue masks I’ve used before because it had more of a silicone property to it. I couldn’t really get it to sit nicely on my face until I removed the film and resorted to just plonking it on. It said to leave on for half an hour, but as I’m sure most of you will agree, ‘aint nobody got time for that’. So I left it on for about 15 minutes and massaged the excess serum into my skin. It did feel quite nice, but I do prefer the thinner, tissue masks.
I then jumped in the bath and washed my hair ready for the Garnier Restore Balm. Upon opening it smelled amazing, like honey and vanilla so I squeezed the product into my hand and ran it through my hair from the base of my neck to the ends. I left it for about 4-5 minutes before rinsing it off and I could already tell my hair felt healthier and softer. I blow-dried my hair and for the next 24-hours it was a case of telling the world, ‘touch my hair, feel how soft it is!’ I was pretty impressed.
The perfume was a full sized product, but unfortunately just isn’t for me. If I’m brutally honest it has that ‘nan-smell’, which obviously isn’t what a 19-year-old wants. It’s a Rose fragrance which was intended to have a French Twist with ‘dreamy, elegant and crisp notes.’ Just not my cup of tea.
Finally, the Ciate London nail polish; it’s in a gorgeous purple shade with a muted grey undertone, and I have the perfect dress to wear it with! I can’t paint my nails with it just yet as I only had acrylics done last week, but my gosh it’s a beautiful spring shade.
All together the products in the box cost £67.50! and I paid like £12?! I still can’t believe how good of a deal this is! Not totally-loving this box 100%, but some of the products are lovely and I can’t complain for the price.
