Dog is man’s best friend, and mine has been with me for 10 years. Delylah (Lyla) is a 12 year old rescue Staffordshire Bull Terrier; she loves her blanket, kong toy, cuddles. Since I was only 9 when we got her, Lyla sees me more as equal as opposed to more dominant (like my Dad), so spends a lot of time with me, or in my bedroom. It’s easy to forget that dogs are only here for a short amount of time, so it’s important to make their lives as happy and exciting as possible, and I really think quality time with your dog is a must, so Lyla and I had our own little girls night in.
Hounds is our favourite shop to buy Lyla’s goodies from (she’s especially a fan of the pick and mix table) and even more goodies have been stocked recently, including the cutest yellow rain mac and peanut butter flavoured bubbles for dogs! Today I picked her up some Pawsecco, a house rosé for cats or dogs; and some Billy and Margot popcorn for dogs.
The Pawsecco was tasted by Alan Carr at Cruft’s, who almost couldn’t tell the difference as to which was pet prosecco and which was human! The Pawsecco sold at Hounds is by Woof&Brew, and is ‘the purrfect treat for those of four feet’! Don’t worry; it is non-alcoholic, as it’s simply made from Elderflower, Nettle, Ginseng and Limeflower, so it’s a great little treat for your pet with some herbal benefits. This is just £3 a bottle and is sold alongside a white wine prosecco and ‘Bottom-Sniffer’ dog beer for the lads. Lyla had just less than half of the 250ml bottle and actually drank from the glass like a lady!
Since I was having popcorn (toffee, of course), Lyla had to have some too, so she was treated to a handful of Billy and Margot’s popcorn with seaweed! This treat is gluten free and made with 100% whole grain, so is a low fat and low calorie snack for your pup! I’m a huge fan of all these new treats being brought out for dogs that mimic human snacks because I feel like it adds a fun, novelty element to the treats, and it’s something that canine companions and owners can enjoy together. The Billy and Margot’s popcorn is just £1.99 a bag, and the bag is resealable for freshness.
If you’d like to treat your pooch to a night in with a movie, then take a look at the fun things Hounds sell online here: https://www.houndsonline.co.uk/
I also recommend a good dog themed movie, my top picks being Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmatians, Fox and the Hound, Secret Life of Pets and Homeward Bound (I’d probably steer clear of Marley and Me).
