You may remember me saying that last month I got a sample of the Smashbox Studio Skin 15 hour wear foundation. Between then and now, I saved up my Boots Advantage Card points until I had enough to purchase it for £29 (in that past week it’s gone up in price by 50p – I’m not sure why, but just so you know).
I brought this in the fairest shade 0.5 and I adore it. It’s a medium to full coverage foundation (one layer medium, buildable to full coverage). It’s quite a runny liquid formula which make it easy to blend and means it goes that little bit further. It doesn’t oxidise much, so when you test it out it’s quite a true colour and therefore quick to match to your skin instead of waiting an hour for it to full oxidise.
It provides a matte, but not too matte finish, leaving a more natural finish that’s perfect for spring and summer, it gets slightly dewier throughout the day, but because it’s an oil-free foundation, it’s not an oily/sweaty shine, it’s a healthy glow.
We all love perks; and the perks that come with this foundation is 1. being proud knowing that it’s a cruelty free product and 2. the free makeup bag. When I ordered this foundation I was super confused as to why it said I had two items in my basket and it was because Boots were offering a free make up bag when you spend over £25 on Smashbox!
The foundation claims to be smudge and transfer proof, which I can confirm – no more foundation on your pillow after an afternoon nap, no more foundation on your white t-shirts, no foundation on your hands after you touch your face – now that’s what we like to hear.
Claiming to be 15 hour wear, I tested this out over the space of 8 hours (because I don’t spend 15 hours awake on an average day anyway), so here are some check in photos – the first image is 1pm, followed by 4pm, 7pm and 9pm.
The above images were taken around 2pm, straight after application
