The past two months, I considered cancelling my Glossybox and switching to Birchbox, however I am so, so pleased with this month’s box that I can’t bring myself to cancel.
This month, us Glossies received not five, but six products in our boxes:
- BeautyPro Black Diamond Peel Off Mask (£4.95)
- 111Skin Bright Eye Lift Gel (£110 – WHAT?)
- Sleek Power Plump Lip Crayon (£5.50)
- Manna Kadar Sheer Glo Illuminator (£22.50)
- Batiste XXL Volume Spray (£4.29)
- Lypsyl SPF 50 (£4.99)
That a whopping £150 worth of products for £13!
The first product I tested was the BeautyPro mask as I’ve wanted to try a peel off charcoal mask since the Instagram hype. This applied so well with my No7 Foundation Brush (reserved for face mask application) and dried really quickly. It peeled off really easily and wasn’t painful at all; these kinds of masks are not supposed to hurt, which is how you know it’s a good one. I won’t disgust you with the results, but yeah, it worked and my blackheads be gone! There was quite a lot left in the packet too, so I decanted it into a little pot so that I can use it again.
Everyone loves a good lip balm, my top picks are an EOS or No7, but Lypsyl is an old classic and you can’t go wrong. It’s also the highest SPF factor lip balm I’ve come across as my No7 one is only 30. The Lypsyl is such a creamy balm made of cocoa and shea butter, beeswax and aloe vera, and makes your lips super soft and hydrated, as well as protected from the sun – beach essential.
I also incorporated the 111skin Eye Lift Gel into my skin care routine and have been applying it in the evenings so that it can work its magic overnight and in the morning for a rejuvenating and bright eye look. I’ve been really impressed so far as my eyes are a lot less puffy and the dark circles are reducing.
I used both makeup products, the Sleek Lip Crayon and Manna Kadar Illuminator in my makeup look, and both are dreamy. The illuminator gives a really beautiful rose gold glow that’s subtle, so can be worn naturally or with highlighter for an extra shimmer. The lip crayon is a gorgeous, easy-to-wear nude, creamy to apply and tingles as it plumps up your lips!
The one product I haven’t tried is the Batiste XXL Volume Spray, as I rarely style my hair in anything other than straight; however this will probably come in handy over the summer for festival hair looks like braids and space buns to give that added volume and hold.
