I’m going to start this post by saying a massive thank you to Benefit Cosmetics and IsabelleKateGM for giving me the opportunity to win a whole years’ worth of Benefit Brow products! I already have my brows done at the Benefit Brow Bar every few months and love how they fill in my brows after, but student life doesn’t cater for brow needs. I’ve won three Brow Zings, three Gimme Brows and three Ka-Brows! Genuinely cannot believe my luck.
Winning this giveaway gave me the idea to attempt a full face of makeup using only Benefit products (minus foundation, as it’s the only thing I don’t have).
We all know no base would be complete without Benefit’s POREfessional Pro Balm. I applied this to my nose and chin to smooth the skin. I then used my Smashbox Studio Skin foundation in 0.5 for full coverage.
Well, it just so happens that I have lots of brand spanking new brow products to try out, and so I lined my eyebrows with Brow Zing (shade 4) wax and the angled brush it comes with. I then used the rounded brush to lightly fill in my brows. I then went in with Ka-Brow (shade 3) which initially I thought may be a little too light for me, but I turned out to be perfect. I used this to deepen the colour of my brows and add depth for a fuller looking brow. I always leave the very front of my brow until the end; I used Gimme Brow (shade 3) to brush the brow hairs up for a fluffy look, then touched up the sparse areas with Ka-Brow. To finish them off and set them in place I used the Ready Set Brow clear brow gel.
What I love about all of these products is the gorgeous silver packaging, it’s like old-fashioned vintage vanity sets and it’s just beautiful. I also love how the Ka-Brow brush clicks into the lit to extend the handle for easy use but also slots back in for clean, hygienic storage.
For my eyes I used the They’re Real Due Shadow Blender in Brazen Bronze from my Girl-A-Rama tin for a natural nude look, using the gold shade on the lid and the darker shade in the crease.
Bronze, Contour and Highlight
To bronze I used a touch of the Dew The Hoola liquid bronzer on my beauty blender and just gently bronzed the areas I wanted to look more sunkissed. To contour, I went in with both shades of the blushers Coralista and Rockateur in the Girl-A-Rama tin and the little brush that comes with. This brush is amazing for creating a clean contour. I dotted a touch of High Beam on my cheekbones and nose to highlight my features and give me a nice healthy glow.
Blush and Lips
I had the choice of two lip and cheek tints – Benetint or Chacha Tint – I decided to use Chacha tint for my cheeks so that I could use the rosier Benetint on my lips. I just dotted two small dots of Chacha tint on each cheek and blended it in with my fingertips. I then used Benetint on my lips and built the colour up until it was even and I was happy with the shade.
The final touch was my trusty Roller Lash mascara to create long, luscious natural looking lashes.
I hope you enjoyed this makeup look and if you would like to see more ‘full face of…’ looks then let me know!
