Hi I’m Bethan and I spend way too much money on clothes, makeup and skincare, but hey-ho, you guys tend to like to see what I’ve brought! I’ve been on another spending rampage and I’m here to tell you all about it.
One thing I went shopping for specifically was a swimsuit for my holiday; I like to buy at least one new swimsuit or bikini each year. I find that size 8 bikinis and swimsuits are always sold out, especially if they’re in the sale, so when I spotted a flash sale in River Island, I decided to have a look, but didn’t think I would find anything. To my surprise, I did actually find a beautiful yellow floral swimsuit in my size – that never happens. I’m really loving yellow floral patterns at the minute, like my Primark playsuit! I’m so pleased that I have a swimsuit in the same pattern. What’s even better is that it was just £15 instead of £32.
In-keeping with my love for yellow and floral, I also purchased a cute little card holder from River Island because I don’t want to have to carry all of my cards all of the time whilst I’m on holiday. This was just £7, however one thing I find lets River Island down is that they don’t do student discount as this puts me off shopping there on a regular basis.
So not technically part of the same shopping trip, but the parcel was delivered the same day so it counts and they’re too good not to be included in this post. I watched a video of Zoella’s not too long ago where Alfie chose her clothes from Asos and there was an adorable pair of gingham trousers included, and so I decided I needed some gingham trousers in my life. I picked up these frilly gingham leggings from Pretty Little Thing for just £12 (and got free delivery – winner).
Another delivery that came was my Bedroom Athletics slippers. Okay, I know £10 is a lot to pay for slippers (they were supposed to be £20), but I swear by this brand. This is my third pair of Bedroom Athletics and they’ve always lasted me a good two years before they start looking tatty. They are the most comfortable thing you will ever put your foot into and they have a really decent soul on them too so it’s okay to pop outside in them without wrecking them.
Onto skincare, I’ve picked up a few bits and bobs with my £5 off No7 vouchers. I love the Soft & Soothed Cleanser, so I decided to buy the Soft & Soothed toner, which feels so nice and doesn’t burn when you apply it like I find with other toners. I also grabbed another pack of No7 facewipes as these are my holy grail of skincare and I swear by them, I also bagged myself a new No7 Night Cream from the Essential Moisture range. Another thing I really needed was a good exfoliator, which are hard to come by (any suggestions welcome), so I went for a blackhead specific one from Good Things, which is Papaya and Liquorice and it smells lovely and does the trick.
I have a makeup obsession okay? So when I see discounted lipsticks in cute rose gold packaging I just can’t. say. no. I bagged two Rimmel x Kate Moss lipsticks in Boho Nude and Retro Red for just £1.50 each in the Boots clearance – girls: do not ever be ashamed of looking through Boots clearance makeup – sometimes it can be bashed up makeup, but most of the time it’s just discontinued lines that are perfectly intact!
Rose gold and copper makes for great blog photos, mainly the reason I grabbed those lipsticks, but I also picked up some LED fairy lights from Primark that are going to make future blog photography beautiful and will decorate my room nicely too. These were just £2.50.
Another thing I’m looking to grow is my makeup brush collection, in particularly eyeshadow brushes. I picked up two eyeshadow brushes from New Look as they were buy one get one free so I got both for £4.50. I went for a tapered crease brush and a double ended eyeshadow brush so technically it’s three brushes.
More makeup bits I’ve picked up are another Barry M Molten Metals in Copper Mine (£3.99), as I already have Holographic Lights and it’s amazing! They stay on so well, shimmer gorgeously under lights and don’t come off bitty like glitter nail polish, it ticks all the right boxes for me.
I also picked up a No7 Stay Perfect Eyeliner in Deep Green, as I have plans to do a Harry Potter themed makeup post and needed a good shade for Slytherin – keep an eye out for that post!
The final bits of makeup I bought were from I Heart Makeup, a brand I’ve not yet tried but am very excited to. I grabbed the Unicorn Highlighter because it was too much to resist! I also purchased the baked blusher in Iced Hearts and they were £4.99 each. These are so pigmented and shimmer and I can’t wait to glitter like a unicorn.
I’ve restocked on my Eyelure individual lashes as I ran out the other week. I plan to get my lashes tinted before holiday and use these as they last all week, and I can easily replenish any fallen lashes. I really love the effect these individuals give because you can make them as natural or as full as you like for a fully custom look.
Primark’s sun shop is adorable at the minute – I really want a big inflatable unicorn to lounge on but student budget and all that… I did pick up these two inflatable drinks holders though! Who doesn’t love unicorns and flamingos? I hate being on the beach and having to dig a hole in the sand for my can because I get really conscious about kicking it over or flicking sand in it – these drinks holders are just £1 each and will elevate my drink and look mega instagramable.
The last thing I brought is a new reed diffuser for my room which is from Primark’s homeware section. It’s ‘pink lemonade’ and smells of rhubarb and lemon, it’s light and summery and only cost £1.
I’ve also ordered a plain black and a plain white bodysuit from Boohoo for £5 each as I think they’re so flattering and easy to wear with anything, but they aren’t arriving until tomorrow!
I hope you enjoyed my haul and I can’t wait to wear al my new bits and try all my new makeup.
