Today we headed to Tolcarne beach, Newquay, one of my favourite beaches in the town for its hidden caves, rock pools and soft sand.
I’m not one of those people who can just sit on the beach and just sunbathe, I mean c’mon, I’m ginger and the second I look at the sun I burn. I like to have some things to keep me entertained and some other essential bits in my bag. So, what’s in my beach bag?
First there’s my beaut little beach blanket which I go from Amazon for a fiver. It’s circular and easily fits two people on it and the peacock pattern is lovely. Even when I’m back off holiday I would love to use this as a wall hanging or bed throw.
Next up is a good old book. This year I’ve purchased Louise Pentland’s ‘Wilde Like Me’, so far I’ve read a chapter and a half and there’s a Lyla (my late dog), a Karl (my brother) and a Simon (my dad) – talk about coincidence ay?
Other bits and bobs I like to pack include hand sanitiser, hand cream, some body spray and most importantly, SPF lip balm. I also pack a razor in case of emergencies – we all miss a hair sometimes, so you can always nip to the loo and get rid!
What do you always take to the beach?
