Student Life: What I Eat In A Day

I’ll be the first to admit it – my diet is shit. Do I care? Nah. Not particularly. I eat what I like, what I fancy and it’s usually deep fried or covered in chocolate. Being a student, most meals are quick, easy, cheap and on the go – mate I have not got time to be decorating overnight oats with fruit and yoghurt or making smashed avo on toast. So here’s what I ate on Thursday of last week, and what I eat most days.


Breakfast? What’s that? Don’t get me wrong sometimes I’ll wake up absolutely starving and I’ll grab a bowl of Cookie Crisp, the same cereal I’ve eaten since I was about 6, but most days, breakfast is liquid. A good british brew.

Morning snack:

If I haven’t had time for a second brew in the house before I leave, I either make one in my travel mug or grab something else caffeinated – today it was a Rush energy drink because I got it free at Fresher’s fair, same with the donut.

I love the food at the uni bar, and I will always get a chicken and cheese burger with sweet potato fries given half the chance – they’re less than a fiver and so yummy. They also have this cool rule that if you buy five meat-free meals you get one free – now, I ain’t a veggie but I do like a margarita pizza, so sometimes I’ll get that and have my little meat-free card stamped.

Post uni snack:

When I get home from uni the first thing I do is stick the kettle on. I love these little Kinder bars and tend to pick up one or two at the uni shop (35p each) and they’re a great pick-me-up hen craving something sweet.

Pizza. Quick and easy. Can even do what I do and save half for the next day too. Cremated the edges on this one – oops. I decided to have a glass of milk after my pizza, but it wasn’t long before mum stuck the kettle on again and it there’s ever a chance to have a brew that you didn’t have to make yourself – take it.

So yeah, that’s what I eat in a day… Sometimes in the evening when I’m working on blogs in bed I’ll grab a packet of crisps or something, but this is pretty much my diet.

    Love this post haha! I’m totally the person you are describing a uni student not to be. I will find time to make avocado and eggs on my toasted bagel hahaha – even though I’m sat here post-uni eating a pot of Aldi ‘Ben and Jerrys’ 😀 xx

  3. First of all, I’m loving the complete honesty of this post. I feel like my diet is so unbalanced, some days I’ll eat barely anything and other times everything haha. I do love a good cup of tea and also those Kinder bars are my absolute favourite chocolate. I love the Marauder’s Map mug! x
