Boys are so hard to buy for, however if you’ve been reading my blog from the start, one of my posts was ‘the secret to buying for boys’ and I still stand by the formula: something to eat, something to wear, something to listen to, something to watch. Other variations may include something to play or something to smell. Here are some little, inexpensive stocking fillers for lads.
Something to wear:
Socks – I swear all men have holes in every pair of socks they own? I know Jake and my Dad are always grateful for some new socks. For a stocking, I’d go with some comical novelty socks. These ones are from Matalan and range from £2.50 to £3.
Boxers – again, boxers… holes? how? Check out this sausage dog pair from ASOS.
Lynx – I always see on Twitter, lads moaning about ‘yet another Lynx set’ but like, are you not grateful? Jake loves Lynx sets because it’s one less thing he has to buy himself and he actually uses it!
Hair products – little mini toiletries are on 3 for 2 at Boots, like mini hairsprays and gels – these and a deodorant or shower gel make a great little trio.
Something to eat/drink:
Bottle opener – can’t have too many bottle openers, especially around the Christmas period, you’ll probably have one in a draw from last Christmas’ crackers anyway right?
Mini whiskey – or any of their favourite alcohol. Places like Home Bargains tend to do pretty good alcoholic gifts at a low cost. The set pictured is from the Boots Christmas 3 for 2 range.
Chocolate Orange – everyone needs one.
Something to listen to:
Headphones – I know Jake and I are forever losing headphones, so a spare pair won’t ever go unappreciated.
Guitar Picks – Since Jake plays guitar, I like to get him a couple of plectrums in his stocking because these are another thing that inevitably get lost, usually to the washing machine or the floorboards of gig venues.
iTunes voucher/Apple Music subscription – You could pay for a £10 iTunes voucher or a 3 month Apple Music subscription nd give them access to whatever they want to listen to.
Something to watch:
Favourite movie/Christmas film – it’s an excuse for a cosy night in with a movie and some popcorn.
A voucher for the cinema – or instead of the night in you could opt for a night out with a cinema voucher!
Are there any gifts you always put if your partners stocking?
