Blogmas Day 21: Top 5 Festive Lipsticks

For me, I’m only ever brave enough to wear red lipstick over the festive period. There’s something about it that scares me a little, perhaps that I won’t do it justice? That I don’t want to ruin something that’s sacred by putting it on my face? I don’t know. But I have found five of them that I do like, and that I’ll be wearing over Christmas.

Max Factor Lipfinity Long Lasting Lipstick in So Luxuriant (£8.99) – I’d never tried Max Factor products before, but I had this in a set with a couple other products (I’ll be doing a post in January on what my first impressions of the brand are). This actually really shocked me at how lovely it looked on. The photos don’t to it justice at all. It’s got a gorgeous shimmer to it that light just bounces off, but it’s still subtle. This would be great for a glam look to add an extra bit of sparkle without it being ‘too much’.

L’Oreal Paris Color Riche Exclusive Reds in Blake’s red (£6.99) – This is a really nice bold, matte red. It’s not to orangey, corally or burgundy. It’s like your real, classic red. This may even be my favourite of them all.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish by Kate in Retro Red (£6.49) – This ones a slightly more burgundy shade, but is one that applies really nicely, has a beaut satiny finish and lasts agessssss. Plus the packaging is gorgeous!

Lancôme ‘L’Absolu’ Velours Lip Gloss in 172 (£21.00) – A slightly more luxurious product but worth the money. This gloss is velvety, not sticky, with a high intensity colour that pops.

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipstick in Plum This Show (£5.99) – I love these so much I have 5 shades. This one, like the Rimmel x Kate lipstick, is a more autumnal red, but you can still rock it for Christmas. Liquid Lipsticks are great as they dry quickly and won’t budge, meaning you can eat and drink as much as you want and you won’t need to reapply.

Have you got a favourite red lipstick? Let me know in the comments!

Beff xx
