Each year after Christmas I’ll treat myself to some goodies with the points I’ve saved on my Boots advantage card. How the Advantage Card works is that every time you spend £1, you get 4p back; it’s literally free money. You can also boost your points with vouchers and coupons sent through the post or on the Boots app. Last year, I bought my Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera with my points, but this year, I’ve bought a few smaller things.
I had £50 worth of Ad Card points, and first on my list was this No7 Rose Gold illuminating mirror at £19.99. Copper and Rose Cold is edging its way into my bedroom theme and this mirror is really handy for getting ready to go out in the evening as the ring lights up! It has a 1x magnification as well as 5x magnification on the back which I think is great for say, plucking my brows. The only issue with this is that it needs to be plugged in the mains, which makes it less portable, but we can’t have everything. I’m also going to be using this to enhance my makeup photos as it’s essentially a huge ring light, as well as add more lighting to blog photos.
Next up are these Makeup Obsessed single pans, I’ve been thinking of collecting a few of these and eventually getting a palette to put them in, but for now I have E132 Pearl and E163 Plum. I’ll be using Pearl as a base shade in most of my makeup looks, and I just thought the shimmery Plum shade was gorgeous and I’d love to use it for a smokey eye look. These are just £2 each so mega affordable, and you can get the palette for free when you spend £12 so it works out really well and there’s a huge shade range. They also do brow pans, strobe and highlight pans and contour pans – you could create your perfect palette!
NYX is a brand I love and I knew I would be purchasing some NYX goodies with my points. I went for the Soft Matte Lip Creams since I don’t yet own any but I’ve had them recommended to me. I picked up Budapest, which is a deep pink nude, and Rome which is a lighter nude. Then I ended up swapping Rome for the Rome gift set which was in the half-price sale, reduced to £7.50! Now, one of the eyeshadows was shattered, so I did ask for a lil bit of discount, but the lady said ‘no can do’ (personally, I would have done it) but I didn’t mind paying. The Soft Matte Lip Creams are £6 alone, and for an extra £1.50 I got four shadows and some blush shades.
Boots isn’t the first place you’d go to buy jewellery, but you really should! They only have little stands but there are some really beautiful things on there! I’ve recently had two gorgeous diamante chokers from their Emporium stand and on this occasion, I bagged myself some red tassel earrings (£7.50) that I’ve been eying up a couple of weeks because I couldn’t bear to live without them a minute longer. I’ve planned a really cool outfit post and these badboys were the missing piece. They also have amazing jewellery sales, so at the moment things are on half price and buy one get one free, so I got this bandana neck tie and a set of 3 earrings for £3.50.
I also picked up a Barry M Liquid Chrome highlighter (£6.99), which gives an incredible glow, but I find the consistency a little thick, so I may need to add a drop of moisturiser to thin it out a little.
Last, but certainly not least, I restocked on the Natural Collection tinted brow gel, which has had a packaging revamp since the last time I bought it. My one fault with the product was the size of the brush, and during the revamp process, they’ve made it smaller! This is my all-time fave brow gel and it’s only £2.49!
And I would say that’s my Boots points well spent! I can’t wait to build my points back up to do a splurge next year!
