What I’m Packing for 5 Days in One Tiny Suitcase

When I was told we were flying with Easy Jet and were only allowed hand luggage my brain went into overdrive panic mode. How. Am. I. Going. To. Pack. How will I fit five days’ worth of clothes, my cameras, my makeup and my handbag in ONE TINY SUITCASE.

I’m trying to pack as lightly as possible, but when you’re a photographer it’s difficult because cameras are darn bulky and I’m having to compromise shoes for cameras.

I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve to help me out with my packing.

Clothes:

To travel, I’ll be wearing a pair of comfortable leggings and a lightweight sweatshirt. I’ll then wear my big teddy bear coat as this is what I will wear every day in Italy, but there’s no way it would fit in the case.

I’ve chosen a black, white and red colour palette which will make mixing and matching clothes and pairing accessories a little easier. Below are suggested/provisional outfits for each day.

We arrive Saturday tea-time, so I will change out of my leggings and into my black jeans and a long sleeve burgundy top.

Day2: rust coloured wrap crop and black jeans.

Day 3: black vinyl skirt and ‘rebel’ tee

Day 4: black vinyl skirt, bodysuit and glitter crop

Day 5 (travel back): leggings and sweatshirt

I will be wearing my Nike Janoski trainers as they are comfortable and we will be doing a lot of walking. I may also take one pair of black Chelsea boots just in case we go to a fancy restaurant.

In total in my case there will be 1 x jeans, 1 x skirt, 5 x tops, 1 x shoes, socks, underwear and a set of PJ’s. The glitter crop and rust wrap crop also fold up really small and won’t take up much room.

Accessories:

Red Tassel Earrings

Grey Beret

Black Handbag

Diamante Choker

Electricals:

I’ll be taking my two DSLR’s, my Instax and my disposable camera. This will likely take up the most part of my case

I will also need my camera charger

Euro Adapter and Extension cable

Phone Charger

Liquids:

I am allowed 100ml of liquid so I’m going for.

7.5ml Benefit Porefessional Primer

6.5ml Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

30ml Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation

3.2ml Natural Collection Brow Gel

3.5ml Rimmel Ink Me Liquid Liner

4ml Benefit They’re Real Mascara

3ml Benefit KaBrow Pomade

3ml Mac Velvet Teddy Lipstick

8ml NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Budapest

I will then buy a small deodorant, a cheap cleanser, toner and moisturiser on 3 for 2 at Boots, toothpaste, shower gel and a cheap body spray either at customs or when in Italy.

I also plan on purchasing a MAC Retromatte lip colour at dutyfree, which is why I’ve left extra liquid allowance.

Makeup:

Translucent powder

Mini Hoola Bronzer

I Heart Makeup Highlighter

ABH Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette

NYX Warm Neutrals Palette

I don’t think my makeup box meets Easy Jet’s hand luggage requirements (sad face), so I’m trying to take minimal makeup with me! It’s so hard picking palettes!

That’s pretty much all I’m taking! unless, that is, I can squeeze a few extra bits in when it comes to packing. Bon Voyage, I hope you’re ready for some Florence footage when I’m back.

Beff xx

  1. I’m going to bookmark this for when I have to pack for Japan! Although I’ll be allowed a good amount of baggage, I want to pack really light going there so that I can bring loads of things back with me. Planning outfits in advance is definitely a good shout, clothes are definitely the thing I find hardest to whittle down when it comes to packing x
