Get that Sunkissed Glow with Norvell Tanning

I have not used any tanning products since I was around 13. It was a very hot summer and I’d tried to use tinted moisturiser on my own. It came out so unbelievably streaky and I had to suffer an hour’s P.E. class in joggers to hide the monstrosity that was my legs.

To quote Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, my legs looked like giant cheesy puffs.

I’ve been too terrified to try any tanning products since. I’m so incredibly pale, I’ve always just embraced it and rolled with that. Being a ginger, I fear tanning products would just make me look like a big walking orange.

When I was contacted by Alex Silver PR about the Norvell tanning products, 13-year-old me cringed at the flashbacks. 20-year-old me, however, thought it was about time I gave this tanning malarkey another shot. I mean, who doesn’t want to look like a glowing, sunkissed goddess? I requested the Norvell Venetian Sunless Colour Extender (£24.99), which is essentially a tinted moisturiser. The team kindly threw in the Norvell Venetian 4 Faces facial spray too (£9.99)!

Shall we see how I got on?

Ordinarily, I’m paler than porcelain but I was aiming for a slightly bronzed look, like a nice soft beige.

I applied one layer of the Sunless Colour Extender product to my legs, and as it is coloured, it already made I little difference, giving my legs a little glow. It smells really lovely, not that weird fake-tan smell that makes you want to vomit when you have a hangover. It started to develop over the next 2-3 hours, but Norvell recommend leaving it eight hours before re-applying if you want to go darker.

This is my natural skin-tone:

The great thing about the Norvell Sunless Colour Extender is that it can be used on any skin tone to enhance their tan and it is buildable so you can gradually increase the intensity of your tan. They blend violet and brown-toned bronzers so that your tan will never look orange. Winner. No cheesy puff legs!

Another bonus is that all of the Norvell Tanning products are cruelty-free, vegan, paraben and gluten free.

Here’s the colour difference after just three hours:

And this is the fully developed tan, the following day, after just one application:

I absolutely love how natural and glowy this tan is, and I’d never have thought my legs would have looked this good with a bit of colour in them.

The tan lasts really well too. After each bath, the colour gradually fades evenly and doesn’t go patchy. It doesn’t really cling to dry areas, but it’s advised to use the product sparingly on areas like knees and ankles.

I can’t wait to use the Norvell Tanning Sunless Colour Extender this summer for my holiday!

I am seeing so much about this brand at the moment! I haven’t tanned in ages but when I do, I’m a Sienna X girl but it’s pricey! xx

This looks absolutely amazing, while I love my current tan I find it only lasts a day or two before fading completely and being a fellow ginger I daren’t risk trying to get an actual tan out of fear of just frying.

Looks really natural. I’m scared to tan again myself. Being so pale, the last time I done it in my teens it was so messy, streaky and smelt awful but I might have to try this! Xx
