Jimmy’s bar in Manchester’s Northern Quarter has become the place to be. I’ve seen so much hype around the venue online that when I met up with Tia for a photo shoot I just had to check it out.
The venue was set up by brothers Jimmy and George from One Night Only, a band who’s album I once picked up for 99p and fell in love with. Whilst I’m here, hoping the lads read this, I want to mention that the video for Say You Don’t Want It was a. Very bloody clever and b. Very bloody cute.
Anyways, the bar. Jimmy’s has an underground vibe around it – if you didn’t know it was there, you’d miss it. The signage is like an old school cinema, and will change daily to show what gig or event is on that night.

I ordered a Manchester Martini, a drink I’d seen made on a viral video on Facebook. It features flavours of honey and pineapple for a super sweet and tropical taste, topped with a gold glittery bee.
The red and black decor is a signature look, and the walls are donned with rock ‘n’ roll, music-related pictures and quotes. My personal favourite being an image of Bowie with neon lights as his iconic lightning bolt.
Onto my outfit, which yes – I did wear in order to coincide with the bars theme. This Bowie inspired Rebel Rebel tee is a steal from NastyGal at just £15. I paired it with a black vinyl skirt and fishnets for a grungier look, alongside my oxblood docs. My shades, from Sparrowhawk were just £8 and are screaming 90s – they’re gonna make a comeback this year, I’m telling you. Mark my words, boo.
