Every blogger and their dog have got a funky straw hat and straw bag combo for summer. I’ve finally jumped on the bandwagon!
I have been lusting after a straw hat for weeks, after seeing so many other fashion-babes rock them. I was just waiting for the right one. I’m not usually one to join a mass-trend-train, but how could I not?
I was on an impromptu shopping trip with my mum and sister, and we found ourselves in the hell-on-earth that is Primark-on-a-Saturday. Primark is fab; but I just can’t stand Saturday shoppers.
I was wrestling my way through crowds to check out every blooming hat I could find and not one of them was the one. I was on the escalator heading to the second floor and that’s when I spotted it. At the second floor I did a 180 degree turn straight back down to grab it.
Hat – Primark – £4
Bag – River Island
Belt – Handbag strap
Shoes – New Look
This Vacay straw hat is making me wish I was on holiday! I just want to be on a beach in my ‘kini with a cocktail in hand. It’s not too small and not too oversized, but oversized enough that it makes kissing your taller partner a little difficult. My favourite part? The little embroidered lemon! Is it not the cutest thing ever!
I paired my hat with the cute tea dress from Nasty Gal, which has been sitting in my wardrobe with the tag still on for months. I’m so glad the hat inspired me to crack it out because I’m definitely going to be living in it over the next few months. The sleeves are giving me proper Kate Bush vibes.
I wore it with a pair of New Look strappy heels which I’ve acquired from my sister, and paired it with my River Island satchel style handbag. I used the bag strap wrapped around my waist twice to create this belted effect, which adds a little shape to the dress. Who said handbag straps weren’t multi-purpose?
