I’m actually a bit of a stationery snob. I like things to match, I like things to look pretty and I like them to stay neat; none of this bullet journaling and scribbling – I can’t do that. I’m the kinda gal who’s weekly planner can’t even have a spelling error on it, or I’ll tear the page off and toss it in the bin. Because of this wastefulness, I also don’t like spending a tonne of money on my stationery.
Can you even begin to imagine my excitement when I saw that Poundland had released a super cute, trendy stationery range? Oh, you have no idea.
Everything I am about to tell you about cost me, you guessed it, £1 each. One Great British Pound. Yup, I’m pretty smug about it.
I Am Really Busy academic diary
Since I’m a student, I really like using academic diaries as opposed to diaries that take you from January to December. They tend to have really handy pages like timetable pages and extra notes space. Poundland had loads of seasonal designs, with tropical prints and summer slogans but I was looking for something that would stay on-trend all year round so as to not feel compelled to buy another come winter.
This sleek, grey planner is A5 and week-to-view, so easy to slip in a bag with it being not as bulky as other diaries.
Sticky Note set
As I said, I’m quite finicky about my stationery and keeping planners neat. I picked up these sticky notes so that I could write plans on them and stick them in my diary. If I spell something wrong, I can just use another sticky note. If something gets rearranged, just move the note to a different date. I can also use the larger ones to help me plan out the days tasks and the order to do them in.
I love a weekly planner. It’s great for noting down all the little things that aren’t diary-worthy, such as editing photos, or planning blog posts. I like to plan out my week on a Sunday night, so I use the To Do section to write every little thing that needs doing, then spread them evenly across the week. I like to do it this way so I can prioritise what needs doing first, but also make sure I’m not overloading myself at the beginning of the week.
Had to buy this just for matching the Weekly Planner! I also think it’s a great size for carrying makeup brushes whilst travelling (why have I never thought of this before). It’s also going to be great for uni for fitting all my
hair pins, bobbles, lipsticks pens and highlighters in.
Hexagonal and marble? The only thing that could make this more blogger-esque would be a copper ring-binder. I really like A5 pads for studying and making notes as A4 can be quite cumbersome and may not always fit in my handbag. I may well pick up some of their other designs before I start back (one for each module perhaps?)
Zebra Rose Gold Pens
I’m very brand-loyal when it comes to pens. It’s gotta be Bic Crystal or nothing, really. My brother’s girlfriend Alex assured me that these pens are amazing (she’s a stationery snob, too.) These are probably going to be my new go-to pen – soz Bic, your time is up. They’re a super sleek, black ballpoint that’s really comfortable to handle and looks great in blog photos. Thank you Poundland.
So it’s totally official that I will forever head straight to Poundland for all of my university and office necessities for the foreseeable future!
