It’s seven weeks until Christmas. That’s less than 50 days. Some of us are in full Christmas spirit already, mince pies, mulled wine and most of the shopping done already. Others haven’t even thought about Christmas yet (bah-humbuggers).
Me, I fall into the first category. I have just over half of my Christmas shopping done, and I’d be more than happy to put up the Christmas tree and sport my deliberately disgusting festive jumper.
As part of last years’ Blogmas, I created a post on what I was buying Phoebe for Christmas, when she was an only fur-baby. When the house was blooming peaceful. This year I want to highlight some of the awesome gifts out there that you can buy your less-furry friends, that are as obsessed with their pets as I am.
All of the below products were either gifted, sent for PR promotion or discounted from their usual price.
Jungle Club Clothing ‘Pimp Your Pet’ Personalised T-shirt
Jungle Club Clothing are an independent label based in Sheffield, founded by the lovely Helen. As well as selling funky, creative t-shirts, accessories and swimwear, they also sell personalised pet products including prints, cards, t-shirts and hoodies. All of the images are hand illustrated and printed onto 100% cotton tees. All of their garments are custom printed when the order comes in to help reduce waste.
This tee of Phoebe and Frank is their two pet tee, but you can have between one to four pets printed onto your order. They don’t just do dogs either, but bunnies, cats and even guinea pigs! T-shirts start at £25 for a single pet illustration, and go up to £40 for four pets. They come in pink, white, blue and black – we chose white as Phoebe and Frank have quite dark fur, but darker colours look great for your blonde pets!
Adventures in Petlandia Illustrated Story Book
I first ordered from Petlandia when we first got Phoebe, after my friend Anya had ordered some for her sausage dogs. When we got Frank, Petlandia kindly gifted us one of their two pet adventure books.
On their site, you are able to select the illustration that best looks like your dog. You can search through a number of breeds and colourings to get the one that looks the most like your pet. You then input their name and their owners name, with the option of a second owner in order to create the story. For Phoebe and Frank’s book, I put myself as the first owner, then ‘Simon & Tracy’ (my parents) in the second owner box.
Throughout the book, Phoebe and Frank run away dreaming of stardom in Hollywoof, and jet off to become celebrities. It takes you through their adventure and the mischievous things they’ve been up to. It’s a quirky gift that makes a lovely keepsake. Each book retails at £19.99, but they often offer discount and deals, so keep an eye out for those!
Art By Parmpy Pet Painting
Art by Parmpy, aka Sarah Timmis, is an artist based in Stone, Staffordshire. Whilst she paints a range of cool prints, such as watercolour gin bottles and leopard print pineapples, she is best known for her pet portraits.
What’s great about Sarah is that she is amazing at several different styles, but completes her work with a signature splash of colour. She commissioned me a piece of art featuring Phoebe and Frank. All I had to do was send over a few clear photographs of them, and let her work her magic!
When the painting arrived I was completely blown away. The likeness was incredible and she really captured their personalities in the painting. The piece was painted onto quality A4 300gsm matte paper, and frames in a glossy white frame. Her prices for pet commissions range from £40 (unframed A5), through to £85 (framed A3).
The painting of Phoebe and Frank would usually cost £85, for two pets on A4 and framed. Unframed this would cost £70. Art by Parmpy are offering 10% off commissions when you quote BEFF10 at the checkout! That means you could have an A5 portrait of your family pet for as little as £36. Tell me that’s not something your momma will love.
Alma Rose Creations Matching Accessory Set
I love to put Phoebe and Frank in little bandanas and bow ties. Alma creates the most beautiful designs that I just can’t resist whenever I see them in Hounds. I love the idea of matching with your pooch, and I’ve seen a few brands make matching bracelets to your dog’s collar.
After I saw Alma post a photo of a leopard print bowtie, I had a brainwave and asked if she could create a set for myself and the pups to style. Since animal print is all the range this season, Alma designed and created a leopard print bandana, bowtie and scrunchie set for us to sport. I have to say the guys look smashing in them. This is a super cute gift that would cost you less than £15. Alma is always up for creating something new, and has been known to make little tweed hats, capes, and even flowers for your dog to wear!
A.R. Designs Personalised Plaque and Baubles
Ali at A.R. Designs has some gorgeous Christmas products available for personalisation! Two of which are these personalised name plaques and treat-filled named baubles. The plaques are made of good quality dark wood, hand lettered in white typography. We have ours hung up in the kitchen above Phoebe and Frank’s food bowls. Next to it is our reversible ‘the dog has/hasn’t been fed’ sign.
These are available for £18 and I think they would also fit nicely above where you keep your dogs’ lead/harness. Or they could even be stood up next to a framed photo of them (or an Art By Parmpy painting).
You can’t leave the dogs out at Christmas, so why not treat them to a personalised treat bauble. These are just £8 each and feature the same beautiful white lettering, with twine ribbon for hanging. These come filled with tasty natural treats from Hounds, and your pup is sure to love them!
