Sol de Janeiro’s viral Body Mists and Bum Bum Cream that smell incredible

In the realm of bodycare and fragrance, few brands have gained such viral status and internet approval quite like Sol de Janeiro. And if you haven’t heard of them, you’ve either been living under a rock, or don’t have TikTok – perhaps both.

Inspired by the vibrant spirit of Brazil, Sol de Janeiro has carved a niche in the industry with their range of vegan, cruelty-free products that embody the sun-soaked beaches of Copacabana, from summer-ready body mists to their award-winning Bum Bum cream.

For the last few months, whenever I’ve opened the video sharing app, there have been hordes of beauty fans raving – and I mean raving – about their Sol de Janeiro purchases. And eventually, the FOMO got to me, I caved and I ordered – and boy, were they right. The only problem? These products are so addictive, you won’t be able to stop adding to your stash. Here are some of the Sol de Janeiro products taking the beauty world by storm that I can’t get enough of.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

The most popular product in the Sol de Janeiro line up has to be the legendary Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, which takes its name from the Brazilian “bum bum” trend. This iconic moisturiser works to tighten and smooth the skin with a unique blend of sustainably sourced Amazonian ingredients, including the potent, caffeine-rich Guaraná Extract. Found in the Amazon, it has five times more caffeine than coffee, which is known to help stimulate microcirculation and boost energy for smoother-looking skin, helping it to appear more youthful.

As you massage it into the skin, cupuaçu butter, açaí oil, and coconut oil offer deep hydration and essential fatty acids to leave you feeling peachy. But this butter isn’t just for your behind, it can be used anywhere you’d like to achieve a little lift and glow, including legs, tum and arms. And trust me, once you smell it, you’ll want to slather yourself in it.

Aside from its remarkable body care benefits, the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream is infused with the irresistible Cheirosa ’62 fragrance, combining pistachio, salted caramel, and vanilla notes to create a scent that feels like a tropical escape. It really does smell like holiday in a tub, transporting you straight to samdy shores with a smooth, firm, bikini-ready derrière to match.

I have one of the larger 240ml pots that I like to keep in the bathroom, but also have a 75ml pot which is perfect for taking on holiday. The mini tubs are super handy for storing travel skincare when you’re done, too. As for the full-size creams, Sol de Janeiro introduced refill pods, allowing you to cut down on plastic by 89 per cent in a stride towards sustainability.

If you want to smell delicious and benefit from a perkier peach, this award-winning body cream – available from £21 – needs to be on your shopping list.

Sol de Janeiro Bom Dia Bright Body Cream

Bom Dia means ‘good day’, and this positivity-powered body butter promises just that for your skin. The Bom Dia Bright Body Cream helps support collagen and elastin production while locking in moisture. It pairs fruit AHAs with Vitamin C that work in unison to create a power product that gently exfoliates and brightens your skin’s texture to reveal a radiant, smooth complexion.

I recently had a flare up on my thighs of bumpy, rough skin, but using this religiously for a couple of weeks, my legs had a total refresh, with the active ingredients targeting the problem area, while the moisture-rich additions worked to achieve a soft-to-touch surface and healthy glow. It’s even said to be good for improving skin tone and minimising the appearance of dark spots, though since I don’t suffer from this, I can’t speak from experience on it. SOL recommends using it twice a day on some areas, such as those prone to ingrown hairs, for speedier results.

And much like the Bum Bum Cream, this expert emollient has an equally as delicious fragrance, which matches the brand’s Cheirosa ’40 body mist. Warm yet soft, the cream features notes of plum and blackberry, as well as jasmine, vanilla and musk, making it a perfect choice for any time of the day.

If your skin is currently going through a rough patch, this retexturizing body cream will give your skin the attention it deserves while delivering some impressive results. Shop it here from £21.

Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa Perfume Mists

Sol de Janeiro doesn’t stop at skincare – in fact, their fragrance offerings have gained a helluva lot of traction on social media with shoppers desperate to get their hands on every scent. So popular, in fact, that Aldi gave creating a dupe a shot – though having tried one, it’s certainly worth investing in the real deal.

Each of these perfume mists are inspired by a different area of Brazil’s rich history, with Cheirosa ’62 – the scent that started it all – paying homage to the summer of 1962, a time of iconic beach culture. Reminiscent of the sands of Rio, it offers warming notes of pistachio and almond that mingle with a floral bloom of jasmine petals, settling on a rich base of sandalwood, vanilla and salted caramel to make every spritz as addictive as the last.

Sweet and sunny, the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 62 mist is like a holiday in a bottle, creating the feeling of summer year-round. And a top tip: if you layer it on top of the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, it will lock in a more concentrated and longer lasting fragrance. I have this in both a full size and mini, the latter being perfect for travelling to throw in your hand luggage.

Meanwhile the Cheirosa ’68 Perfume Mist captures the Tropicalia Movement’s influence on Brazilian music and culture in 1986. Mirroring the vibrancy of this era is a fruity floral fragrance that showcases notes of Brazilian jasmine, pink dragonfruit, and sheer vanilla. It feels super juicy and unexpectedly fresh, like a sea breeze. And while it’s probably my least favourite of the three I have, I still find myself reaching for it when I fancy a change from my usual fragrance notes to mix things up a little.

Saving my favourite for the finale, there’s the Cheirosa ’71 Perfume Mist, which is good enough to eat. Caramelised vanilla, toasted macadamia, and tonka bean evoke a sense of indulgence that’s hard to resist, and for me, this takes Sol de Janeiro from summer scents to autumn aromas. Cosy and comforting, this rich and inviting spritz leans into my usual fragrance picks like YSL’s Libre Intense or Shay and Blue Salt Caramel, and it great for layering with these to create more complex and unique blends.

The Cheirosa 71 Perfume Mist is inspired by the body positivity and passion displayed by Brazilian actress Leila Diniz, the first pregnant model to complete a bikini shoot on a Rio beach in 1971. We love to see it, and this spray allows you to exude a similar sense of confidence and empowerment.

Sol de Janeiro’s ascension to sell-out success is not just a result of its social media hype – it’s been so clearly hard won by a brand dedicated to celebrating confidence, positivity, and sharing the secrets of Brazilian beauty. From the best-selling Brazilian Bum Bum Cream to the addictive Cheirosa Perfume Mists, these viral sensations have well and truly won me over. So, why not join the journey and experience the Sol glow for yourself? Shop the range here.
