When it comes to beauty, staying ahead of the trends can be incredibly overwhelming, especially with endless social media feeds filled with videos of the hottest new launches and viral sensations.
Knowing which skincare innovations and makeup must-haves are actually worth buying can be a bit of a challenge, but health and beauty retailer Boots has been making it easier than ever with their trending landing page filled with TikTok’s top picks and shopper-loved products.
The fast-paced nature of social media means that, just three months into 2024, we’ve already seen dozens of new launches and beauty chart toppers, including new fragrances from Sol de Janeiro and lash lengthening mascaras from No7. And looking ahead to the summer, trends like glass hair, alongside hydrating skin and body care are already beginning to emerge.
So whether you’re a skincare aficionado on the lookout for the next holy grail product or a makeup enthusiast eager to experiment with the latest trends, here are 14 new and trending products not to be slept on in 2024 – and how you can get them for less and save over £100.
ELF Power Grip Primer
The ELF Power Grip Primer is a great affordable alternative to the Milk Hydro Grip primer, which is one of the reasons it’s so highly rated by beauty buffs. The product is a gel-based ‘ingredient-driven’ face primer, containing niacinamide and sodium hyaluronate – a derivative of hyaluronic acid – meaning it hydrates skin as you wear it.
It’s got a sticky, gel-like consistency, and should be left to sit on the skin for around 30 seconds before applying foundation. The product goes very tacky, almost glue-like which smoothes and blurs your complexion while gripping your makeup to help it last longer. Water-based and oil free, it offers a smooth base for makeup application without the use of silicones, which also means that it won’t clog your pores.

Sol de Janeiro Delicia Drench Body Butter
In the realm of bodycare and fragrance, few brands have gained such viral status and internet approval quite like Sol de Janeiro. Inspired by the vibrant spirit of Brazil, the brand has carved a niche in the industry with their range of vegan, cruelty-free products that embody the sun-soaked beaches of Copacabana, from summer-ready body mists to their award-winning Bum Bum cream.
Their latest innovation is the Delicia Drench Body Butter, a thick, velvety body butter that works to repair the skin’s protective barrier while leaving it smelling, as the name suggests, delicious. The formula boasts a dreamy combination of warm and sweet scents, with notes of plum, vanilla, violet, and amber.

L’Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5 Minute Lamination Treatment
Hair care has never really been my forte, but if you’re looking for a product that will give you the shiniest, glossiest, glass hair of your life, then you need to try the L’Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss 5 Minute Lamination Treatment.
Unlike traditional hair masks, the formula is powered with Glycolic Acid, which penetrates more easily and effectively between cuticles in the hair and seals it with a long-lasting shine glaze. You only need to use a small amount and apply it to the mid-lengths and ends before leaving for five minutes, noticing the instant silkiness before rinsing out. Upon drying my hair is left shinier and smoother than ever before.
BYOMA Barrier + Repair Treatment
BYOMA is a brand dedicated to ‘boosting your skin’s barrier’, which is absolutely key for healthy skin. After launching in the UK in 2022, there’s been a real buzz about the brand, which takes a ‘no filters, no fluff’ approach to skincare. Created by the team behind Tan-Luxe, one of their latest products is the Barrier + Repair Treatment which is formulated to nourish and protect your skin, delivering deep, targeted hydration to skin while calming redness and inflammation.
The rich, buttery formula is packed full of emollients, occlusives and humectants, including shea butter, squalane and avocado oil for instant relief and lasting hydration to irritated, dry skin.
Natural Collection Clear Mascara/Brow Gel
Natural Collection is a brand that’s been with me since the start of this beauty blogging journey, with its brow gel being a mainstay in my makeup bag for almost a decade. Which begs the question, why is it in a new and trending list? Well, for starters, you might have noticed the updated packaging, with the affordable beauty brand getting a revamp for 2024.
Among the new and improved formulas is their clear mascara and brow gel – a multi-functional two-in-one product to define and tame lashes while offering a natural finish. Designed with a lightweight, quick dry formula that leaves a non sticky transparent finish, it’s perfect for anyone looking for an inexpensive yet effective product for those busy mornings or for on the go.
17 Highlighter Wand
Another nostalgic brand that made a recent resurgence is 17, which after being discontinued in 2018, landed back on shelves four years later much to the excitement of affordable beauty fans. Their Extreme Extension Lengthening Mascara is in my top five lash products ever, and their highlighter wands are just as impressive, giving some of the big name brands a run for their money.
When applied to the high points of the face, the easy-to-use highlighter wand blends effortlessly to offer a radiant, lit-from-within glow. They’ve been compared by shoppers to the Charlotte Tilbury beauty light wands, giving a similar effect for a fraction of the price.
R.e.m. Lustrous Liquid Eyeshadow
Launched in 2021, r.e.m. beauty is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Ariana Grande and landed online and in store at Boots at the end of 2023, making it one of the freshest celebrity brands on the market. Among their bestsellers are their longwearing, waterproof liquid shadows that deliver intense pigment and shimmer.
Vegan and cruelty free, the luxe liquid gel formula helps give the look of smoother skin and can be applied all over lids and used as a liner with the fluffy, tapered teardrop applicator. The results are something out of this world, with a galactic-like shimmer for creating a range of fun and wearable looks.
No7 Define & Enhance Mascara
Tubing mascaras are big business in 2024, and this one from No7 defines, lengthens, and enhances for the flutteriest lashes of your life. The buildable volume formula doesn’t clump after multiple coats, giving lashes maximum volume and full, natural definition, without flaking or transferring.
The conical shaped brush makes it easy to apply and really helps to separate lashes for a fanned out look. Suitable for sensitive eyes, this weightless, gentle formula washes off easily with warm water, reduces breakage and leaves lashes feeling healthy and strong.
Dermalogica Breakout Clearing Foam Wash
I’m no stranger to the Clear Start range from Dermalogica, with their blemish-busting formulas being perfect for acne-prone skin. Formulated with salicylic acid to unclog pores and prevent future blemishes, the deep-cleansing wash clears away dead skin cells, dirt and excess oils while still being gentle on skin.
The cleanser is formulated with eight botanicals including Tea Tree, Lavender and Camellia Sinensis, known to gently soothe and calm irritated skin, as well as orange peel extract that gives it a light and uplifting scent that makes it a joy to use.
Patchology SmartMud Mask
I’m a big fan of Patchology’s eye gels, and their masks are equally as exciting for an at-home pamper. Designed to deeply cleanse skin, the mineral-rich kaolin clay works to absorb excess oils and reduce inflammation for a smooth, matte finish, making it ideal for normal, combination and oily skin types.
Formulated with FlexMasque Technology it contains volcanic ash and activated charcoal to renew and deeply cleanse skin, while glycerin works to attract and lock-in moisture and protect the skins natural barrier, perfect for when your skin feels like it needs a bit of a detox.
Curlsmith Hold Me Softly Style Balm
TikTok has taught us so much about caring for our hair, and this Curlsmith balm is definitely one for the curly girls. It has a smooth whipped-cream moisturiser that enhances curls and waves achieving a natural, effortless look.
It provides a very soft hold, which means you won’t have any cast or crunchy residue. It’s great on its own for a soft, romantic style, or if you want defined frizz-free curls you can layer it with a stronger hold styling gel.
Baylis & Harding Kindness+ Hyaluronic Acid Body Wash
Baylis & Harding are my go-to for shower washes and their oud, cedar and amber is one of my all-time favourites. Brand new for the bodycare brand, their Kindness+ Body Wash is enriched with skin-loving hyaluronic acid, known for its hydrating, conditioning and softening superpowers.
It’s a really luxe, lathery option with notes of pear and neroli, complete with allantoin and provitamin B5 to leave skin insanely soft and beautifully scented.
First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub
Last summer I was suffering badly with ‘strawberry skin’ aka keratosis pilaris, but the First Aid Beauty KP Bump Eraser Body Scrub banished my rough, bumpy skin in just a handful of uses.
Safe for sensitive skin, this fast-acting body scrub uses Glycolic and Lactic acids, at a combined level of 10% AHAs, to help resurface skin’s top layer, and pumice to physically exfoliate, helping improve skin’s texture and smooth away bumps, roughness, and scaly areas.
Elizabeth Arden 8hr Hydraplay
Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream has been a staple in skincare cupboards for decades, and the new HydraPlay is an eight-in-one multi-tasking must-have that hydrates, brightens, controls oil, refines pores and primes and perfects in one go.
Immediately after application, it primes and perfects creating an even canvas for makeup, while Glycerin and Hyaluronic Acid work to hydrate and plump the look of skin.
The above products are some of the hottest in the industry right now, and to help shoppers get their hands on them for less, Boots has launched a New and Trending box to bring each and every one of them to beauty-obsessed shoppers for just £45.
Of the contents, nine of the products are full sized with the remaining five being deluxe samples from the names you’re hearing about from your friends and seeing all over social media, giving fans a chance to try out some of the newest launches before they even hit the shelves.
What’s even better? This box, valued at over £145, saving at least £100 on the contents and making it a steal for beauty enthusiasts looking to elevate their routine without breaking the bank.
