Back for another year to transport us to the Scottish Highlands is the ARRAN Sense of Scotland Advent Calendar – one of the cosiest and most comforting countdowns of the season. Every year, this calendar delivers a slice of the Isle of Arran into homes across the UK, and the 2025 edition is no exception.
Priced at £85, the calendar holds 25 luxurious bath, body, and home fragrance treasures, with contents worth over £180. Serving as a love letter to ARRAN’s heritage, this thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented countdown features a range of scents inspired by, and expertly crafted in, its homeland.
New for 2025, there are not one, but two limited-edition festive scents – Jasmine, Cedar & Cassis and Amber, Myrrh & Tonka – joining the brand’s signature fragrance families, including After the Rain, Glenashdale, Lochranza, Kildonan, and Seaweed & Sage. Each fragrance captures a different element of the Scottish landscape, from misty mornings and rugged coastlines, to glens and forest walks after rain.
Inside, you’ll find everything from shower gels, soaps, and body lotions to hand creams, shampoos, and mini eau de toilettes, as well as three beautifully scented candles – perfect for cosy winter evenings. It’s a really sensory-focused offering that sees users count down to December 25 with a fresh scent and textural experience each day.
As for the scents themselves, After The Rain remains my long-standing favourite, having received the calendar four years running. ARRAN’s signature scent features notes of lime, rose, and sandalwood, with the calendar featuring no fewer than six products in the fragrance, including a candle, shower gel and body lotion.
There’s also a 15ml bottle of perfume, one of two included in the calendar, with the other being the Kildonan Eau de Toilette – a light yet sophisticated fragrance inspired by sun-warmed shores.
The contents of the 2025 calendar are near-identical to last year’s, save for the new candle scents, and the Glen Rosa hand cream has been replaced with the Glenashdale hand cream this year. Because all of the products inside are travel-friendly, anyone who has had the calendar previously will be due a restock come December, and for new customers discovering ARRAN for the first time, it’s a great way for the brand to showcase their offering in a fun and affordable way.
The smaller bottles are perfect for weekends away, while the range of scents means you can create mini gift sets or stocking fillers for loved ones (if you can bear to part with them, that is).
