For over four decades, Neal’s Yard Remedies have earned a reputation for creating ethically sourced botanical products that are as effective as they are eco-conscious. What began in 1981 in a quaint corner of Covent Garden has blossomed into a global leader in holistic beauty, gaining recognition for their immediately identifiable blue glass bottles and spa-like fragrances inspired by nature.

Made with organic herbs, botanicals, and essential oils, the brand is perhaps best known for their indulgent bath and body products. Many times I’ve enjoyed sinking into mounds of bubbles from their foaming bath after a long week – but it wasn’t until recently that I discovered they have a huge collection of skincare products, too.

Whether you’re looking to rejuvenate, hydrate, or soothe your skin, Neal’s Yard Remedies offers a range of award-winning products to suit every skin type. From creamy cleansers to restorative oils, each of their products are handcrafted in small batches to ensure they are as fresh and effective as possible.

I’ve recently incorporated some of the Neal’s Yard bestsellers into my rotation of skincare heroes this summer, starting with the Rejuvenating Frankincense Refining Cleanser, which costs £20. This luxurious organic cream cleanser has a rich texture, and uses a blend of skin-conditioning baobab seed oil, and moisturising organic cocoa butter to melt away makeup and impurities.

I like to use this as the second step in my evening double-cleanse, or on its own as part of my AM routine because it leaves my skin feeling so soft and fresh. It’s really gentle, making it suitable for dry, oily and combination skin, while the frankincense gives it a spa-like feel and beautiful scent.

I adore spray toners because they provide an immediately refreshing feel, and Neal’s Yard’s Reviving White Tea Facial Mist is among my favourites. Light and uplifting, the facial mist hydrates and soothes your skin, and can be used as part of your skincare routine and even over makeup.

Rich in antioxidant white tea to counteract pollution and cooling organic aloe vera, it’s fast become an essential in my beauty routine and I rarely leave the house without it. Coming in at £18, it’s a little more expensive than the likes of Mario Badescu, but with its luxurious blue glass bottle, unique fragrance and ability to instantly make my skin feel brighter and look more awake, it’s worth every penny.

Then comes a selection of treatment-focused formulas, designed to target any skin concerns and add hydration to my dry skin. The £49 Rejuvenating Frankincense Facial Serum is a really nice boosting serum which is probably best suited for skin more mature than my own, working to firm the skin through organic anti-ageing ingredients. It blends frankincense and gotu kola with a line-smoothing tripeptide, antioxidant-rich blueberry oil, and skin-brightening turmeric, which over time can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and boost your skin’s natural radiance. While I don’t reach for this one daily, it is a really nice, lightweight serum to use in conjunction with other frankincense products from the range.

One product that is a non-negotiable in my routine each day, though, is hyaluronic acid, and Neal’s Yard’s Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Booster – costing £24 – is a dream for anyone suffering with dehydrated skin. Infused with hyaluronic acid and hibiscus extract, it delivers an intense dose of moisture, leaving skin dewy, plumped, and visibly smooth. Suitable for all skin types, this booster contains up to 125 uses, which means used twice daily, it will last around two months.

I really like that it can be used directly on skin, or mixed with your serum or moisturiser for those busy mornings, allowing you to cut corners without compromising on your skin. And the same goes for the Organic Rosehip Oil, which has up to 250 uses in one bottle. Rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins A, B, and E, this oil helps reduce hyperpigmentation over time while providing deep moisture.

And finally, I am such a moisturiser girl. I must have about seven on the go at any one time since they’re dotted on almost every surface of the house, and the Sensitive Replenish & Balance Moisturiser, £36, is such a great pick for sensitive skin.  Featuring skin-conditioning fatty acids, oat oil, and hyaluronic acid, it intensely replenishes and balances sensitive skin, leaving it plumped, comforted, and healthy-looking. The lightweight moisturiser has been formulated without fragrance or alcohol, and is clinically proven to hydrate, soothe, and restore sensitive skin.

These six soothing and hydrating products have been the most delightful introduction to Neal’s Yard’s skincare offering, and after trialling them for a couple of months, I’d definitely be interested in exploring more from the range. Their commitment to using natural and organic ingredients that are kind to the skin and to the planet is something that I really admit, and their blue, almost apothecary style packaging looks stunning on the bathroom shelf, too.

Not only do their iconic blue bottles help protect the natural ingredients from sunlight, ensuring their potency for longer, they can later be upcycled into beautiful household decorations like candlestick holders or a little vase. You can shop their full range of products here.
