When it comes to spring dressing, prints are always my shortcut to looking instantly put-together. They have a way of elevating even the simplest outfits, while injecting personality and playfulness into a look.
This season, three prints have completely taken over both my wardrobe and my saved folder. If you’re looking to refresh your spring wardrobe without a complete overhaul, these are the ones I’d start with.
Polka Dots
Polka dots are having a real resurgence this spring, but in a way that feels fresher and more modern than ever. While they’ve always had that timeless, slightly retro appeal, this season’s styling, from double dots to unexpected colour pairings, makes them feel much more current.
Personally, I’ve been leaning towards more traditional black polka dots on an ivory background. It’s chic, versatile and incredibly easy to wear. My current go-to is a linen blouse from FatFace, which is ideal for warmer days thanks to its breathable fabric and flattering details, like soft tie sides and a subtly shirred back.

I’ve also been living in a polka dot midi skirt from Glamorous via ASOS (sadly now sold out, but well worth keeping an eye out for similar styles). It’s become one of the most hardworking pieces in my wardrobe, working as well with earthy tones like chocolate brown and olive outerwear as it does with spring pastels like lemon and pink.
And if you want to go a little more daring, a double polka dot is so fun. Take this TU denim top in a buttermilk hue for example. I styled this with a reverse dot, so brown base and creamy polka dots for a head-to-toe print that still felt really elevated. The skirt is from ASOS and I already know I’ll be wearing it on repeat.
If you’re buying into this trend, a versatile polka dot skirt or blouse is where I’d start something you can rework across multiple outfits and colour palettes.
Leopard Print
Leopard print has well and truly earned its place as a neutral in my wardrobe. It might sound bold, but once you start styling it like you would black, beige or denim, it becomes one of the most versatile prints you can own.
For spring, I’m softening it with lighter fabrics and relaxed staples like these lightweight red denim trousers from Marks & Spencer. This Damson Madder jacket is one of my greatest Vinted finds bar none.

One outfit I’ll definitely be recreating this year is a leopard-and-stripe combination, finished with a pop of red. It sounds like a lot, but when you keep the base pieces classic, like this crisp blue poplin shirt from River Island, it works surprisingly well. The addition of cherry-toned accessories ties everything together and adds a trend-led twist without being over the top.
But if full leopard feels like too much, accessories are a great entry point. A leopard print bag, for example, can instantly elevate a minimalist outfit. My ruffle bag from Damson Madder has been one of my most-used pieces over the past year and a half and instantly makes an ensemble feel more fun while adding texture and charm. It’s also a great piece to use for pattern clashing.
Stripes
Stripes might be a year-round favourite, but this season they’ve been quietly taking over my wardrobe. They’re one of the easiest ways to add interest to an outfit without stepping too far outside your comfort zone.
I’ve been especially drawn to striped trousers lately, like this relaxed, elasticated pair from Next that are perfect for everyday wear. For something a little bolder, a colourful striped skirt (I’ve been loving a pink and green option from ASOS) brings an instant mood boost to simple outfits.

Stripes work just as well on top, too. A lightweight knit or textured tee, like my fluffy striped piece from Next, is ideal for this in-between weather. It’s the kind of throw-on-and-go item that pairs effortlessly with cream skirts and denim as we move further into spring.
What I love most about these three prints is how seamlessly they slot into an existing wardrobe. They don’t require a complete style reset – just a few well-chosen pieces that can be mixed, matched and styled on repeat.
If you’re building a spring capsule or simply want to update your outfits with minimal effort, consider this your sign to invest in polka dots, leopard print and stripes.
