Monday brunches are always a great excuse to put together a relaxed but fun outfit. In recent months my go-to uniform has been oversized graphic t-shirts and a satin skirt or cargo jeans – there’s just something about a baggy tee with a fun design that makes me feel infinitely cooler than I actually am.
Making for the ultimate canvas to build an outfit around, I love that you can play into different colours in the design, and can be worn tucked in, long and loose, and generally tailored to your personal style. And one retailer on the high street that is currently smashing it with their collection of cotton graphic tops is – perhaps a little surprisingly – Marks and Spencer.
I first spotted their new-in range of pure cotton printed tees just before Christmas and ended up treating myself to some as a little New Year gift to myself. In a regular fit, I went for a white design which boasts green writing on the back which reads The Social Club, with a smaller logo on the chest. As for the oversized tops, it was the ivory mix version that was giving me all the Damson Madder vibes with a bow on the front left chest, with a record player design on the reverse in shades of blue and red.
But my favourite of the three I picked has to be the cream mix tee, in an almost lemony hue with green and pink illustrations on the front, ranging from bows and bottles of wine, to candlesticks and cocktails. When I posted the design on my Instagram stories, so many people replied to say it was giving Ganni a run for their money – and I couldn’t help but agree with them. And for £17.50, they’re as affordable as they are stylish, and really great quality for the pricepoint, too.
Made from 100% cotton, the tees have a soft-touch feel and are lightweight without feeling flimsy. It’s oversized in all the right ways – loose, comfortable and effortless without being shapeless. A lot of people asked me what size to go for and, unless you want a more dramatic look, I’d stick to your usual size. For reference, I’m a size 10 and I’m wearing a 10.
I styled mine with my trusty Damson Madder leopard print cargo jeans, which are rarely off my backside. I think because the new M&S designs are so Damson Madder adjacent, it just works so well and feels really cohesive. The bag – also Damson Madder – pulls the look together without feeling too matchy-matchy. I love that you can adjust the strap on this, so I was able to shorten the length to create more of a gap between the bag and jeans.

I tied in the green tones of the outfit with my accessories, opting for my Adidas Handball Spezials, green-framed sunglasses with a rosy tint and an embroidered cap from River Island which says ‘lovely life’ on the front in pink. I love this sandwich method when it comes to colour – it’s the ultimate styling hack and I’ve yet to see it fail me – and I really like how there are still little pops of pink in there, as well.
If you haven’t checked out Marks and Spencer’s graphic t-shirt range recently, I definitely recommend it. It’s always great to see a high street staple like M&S deliver pieces that feel both stylish and easy-to-wear and affordable. Another place I always look for oversized graphic t-shirts is ASOS – and there’s currently loads in the sale, including this martini tee that I also own. And if you don’t mind spending a little more, Damson Madder’s t-shirts are of a really gorgeous quality and just feel like an elevated take on the graphic tee trend.
