If your ideal December evening involves putting your slippers on, lighting a candle, running a hot bath and settling down somewhere cosy with a good book, the ARRAN Advent Calendar might be right up your street.
I’ve had the ARRAN advent calendar a few years in a row now, and there’s just something about it that makes me want to escape to a little cabin in the Scottish Highlands for Christmas, complete with a log fire, tartan blanket and a big mug of hot chocolate. This year, the countdown is priced at £90 and contains more than £200 worth of products, making it one of the more affordable beauty and self-care calendars if you’re looking to keep your budget under the £100 mark.
As opposed to makeup or skincare, this calendar is all about cosy self-care and scent, containing candles, bath and shower products, body care, haircare, soaps and fragrance. There are 25 products to discover throughout December, with a mixture of ARRAN’s bestselling fragrances and limited editions for 2026.
Leaning into the advent candles tradition, the ARRAN calendar features four votives, two of which are in the new limited-edition fragrances exclusive to the advent calendar. The first is Bitter Orange & Clove – a festive combination of citrus and warming spice, reminiscent of a mug of mulled wine. Then there’s the Pomegranate & Plum Candle which is a little fruitier and sweeter, and smells seriously expensive. I must say, I’m a little gutted that they’re limited to just the candles, as I’d have loved a body wash or lotion in these scents, too.

As well as the festive specials, there’s some bestsellers too, including my all-time favourite ARRAN fragrances, After the Rain, which accounts for quite a large portion of the calendar. Inside, there’s a Body Lotion, Shampoo, Soap, Conditioner, Candle and Bath & Shower Gel as well as a 15ml After the Rain Eau de Parfum. The fragrance has notes of lime, rose and sandalwood and was inspired by a Scottish garden after a summer rain shower, so it’s got a really distinctive, comforting, earthy scent.
I’m also really excited to see Island Dusk included in this year’s calendar after it launched in 2025.There’s both a Natural Wax Candle and Bath & Shower Gel to try – the ultimate long-soak duo, if you ask me. With notes of jasmine, vanilla and saffron, it’s one I think will be universally loved for a warm, cosy wind-down ritual.

One of the things I really like about this calendar is the variety. You get plenty of products to use during a cosy night in, but there are also several fragrances and body care products that can be used day to day, too. The miniature sizes are also really handy for holidays and weekends away, while others make ideal little stocking fillers.
I also think the miniatures make it a good way of discovering scents you might not otherwise pick up. I’ve definitely found products through advent calendars in the past that I’ve gone on to buy in full size, and there are already a few in this one that I’d happily add to my Christmas wish list.
For something a little cosy this Christmas, the ARRAN Sense of Scotland advent calendar is available for £90.
