Four years ago if I’d have gone shopping with my mum and she picked up anything frilly, sequined or heaven forbid floral, she’d be met with an ‘ugh, mum for God’s sake… do you know me at all.’
As it turns out, she knew me very bloody well; mum knew 20-year-old-me.
Fast forward to 2018. I want all the frills, all the sequins and most importantly, all the florals.
Blouse – Topshop
Velvet Flares – Topshop
Mules – Public Desire
Bag – River Island
Teddy Bear Coat – iCandy
I’ll often walk briskly past Topshop like Beth, girl, you have no money, don’t do it. But who can resist the big hot pink Topshop sale signs… nobody. Not one single girl. Definitely not me! This plisse flirty floral blouse was just £9 in store, reduced from £32. The flares I picked up in their Boxing Day sale (online of course) after falling in love with them when I had my personal shopping experience. If I remember rightly, they were £15 down from £22.
The ruched front of the blouse is beautifully flattering, paired with its floaty balloon sleeves, it’s a dream. It’s super versatile and has the potential to be a work blouse, a girls night out or even a date night number. This floral baby has won over my heart.
I wore mine with velvet flares to 60’s it up a bit. These flares make you look like you’ve got legs up to your ears and are so slimming, give such a gorge silhouette.
The flares are a little long so definitely need to be paired with heels, even just a low one. I went for these low silver mules from Public Desire that I purchased for £3.50 from TheKittyLuxe’s depop! Thanks Hol!
This River Island bag was gifted to me at Christmas by my Grandparents, but I have absolutely no doubt that my Aunty had some input too. It’s a great size to fit in all your essentials along with a couple of extras!
Spring is upon us, but with the Beast from the East threatening us with more snow, I thought it best to bring the big coat just in case. I’ve barely had this off my back through winter; it’s like I’ve taken my dressing gown off in the morning and switched straight into my coat, which is essentially a socially acceptable dressing gown. Luckily, the weather stayed lovely and warm and there wasn’t much need for me to bring it along, but it makes me feel sassy af, so just let me wear it a few more weeks until it goes into hibernation for the summer.
