After my last personal shopping experience just before Christmas, I knew I needed to come back to Topshop, Hanley, for round two. Summer.
This time my personal shopper was Leanne, who also happens to work at my fave vintage shop Sparrowhawk.
Leanne and I can often have very similar taste in fashion, which made it incredibly easy for her to style me. We walked through the store and picked out tonnes of items with a festival/summery theme in mind.
What I love about personal shopping is that the stylist can push you out of your comfort zone. Leanne chose some items that I’d have never given a second look to in the past, but they looked so much better on than they did on the hanger.
Ready to see the looks? I’ll link each of the items below each look if you’re as desperate to buy them all as I am!
Look One
This stripe bodycon mini dress was one of those items that I wasn’t a fan of on the hanger, but loved when it was on. Paired with a cropped denim jacket and some cute block heels I felt very festival glam. The dress has a touch of mustard running through it, along with silver glitter, black and pink. Leanne gave me this fab styling tip to button up the last button on the jacket and hang it off my shoulders for a casual look.

Look Two
I’m living for midi dresses at the moment and this one is gorgeous! I feel like this could be the new ‘Topshop Polka Dot Dress’. We rocked it up a little with a black baker boy hat and these white heeled sandals. The dress is such a gorgeous cut and the hem is a-symmetrical with mismatched stripes. Get me to the seaside, hun.

Look Three
I picked out these silky leopard print trousers myself because I fell head over heels for them. I love the print and still don’t own anything leopard print, so I’ve been searching for a statement piece like these for a few weeks. Leanne styled them with the same white sandals with a white ruched Bardot, a leopard print baker boy and the straw bag. We thought the hat may have been a little too much at first, but the more I look at it the more I love it.

Look Four
This is an absolute powersuit, amiright? I didn’t think I’d like this shade of pink against my skintone but this suit made me feel sassy af. Ready to strut into the office, have drinks with the girls or slay date night. This adorable polka dot vest is an absolute steal. This time Leanne paired it with the white shopper bag, which is oh so beach ready!

Look Five
Totally adored this red ditsy co-ord combo but there were none in my size so this was a touch too big for me. The set is adorable though, and the top is so versatile that it could be worn with skirts, shorts and jeans to get your pay per wear! The black baker boy and straw bag returned for this look, too.

Look Six
Okay I changed my mind – this is my favourite dress. This fuchsia pink, self-patterned floaty midi is super dreamy. The split ruffle detail is to die for and I love that you can subtly show a little leg. This can definitely be dressed up or dressed down, but I’m loving it for an evening look. Leanne paired it with a black buckled belt, a black tassel bag and the white sandals. I think it would look equally as good with a pair of cute mules.

Look Seven
Colour clashing is something I’m never brave enough to do myself, so it was great that Leanne helped me take the plunge. She put me in this electric blue, slightly glittered bandeau and the most adorable striped culottes with wooden buttons and a ruffled waist. She threw in the orange sock boots and red polka dot bag and voila. Colour clashing madness that actually weirdly works. Oh, and the shoes are in the sale (you’re welcome).

Look Eight
Cow print is another trend I’m totally down for, and I’ve been looking for a skirt but these shorts are just amaze. We kept this one simple with a black bandeaux, the same cropped denim jacket and orange boots for a pop of colour. Need these shorts in my life – when’s payday?!

Look Nine
Another colour clasher, but slightly less bold this time, pairing a mustard scalloped edge cami with orange boots and a simple polka dot denim skirt and black shopper. It’s a total tie between this skirt and the cow print shorts… maybe I just need to buy both?

Personal shopping is such a fun way to experiment with your style and try something new. Having someone who doesn’t know you style you can seem daunting, but it’s the best hour you’ll spend all week.
Great to hear you had such a good personal shopping experience! I’d love to have one, one day as I think it’d help me get out of my comfort zone a little when it comes to fashion! Megan x
This all look SO good on you! I need to try out personal shopping, I always end up reaching for the same items over and over and never going out of my comfort zone.
