I have a confession – despite what my slogan tee says, these photos weren’t taken on a Sunday. I just got way too excited about my new t-shirt that I wore it on a Thursday. Sorry, not sorry.
There’s always that one person that point it out though isn’t there, like when you wear ripped jeans and your nan asks if you bought them with holes in.
On Thursday, my mum and I went to see the Poppies: Weeping Window Instillation at Middleport Pottery. My home-city of Stoke-on-Trent is incredibly rich in history and culture, particularly surrounding pottery. The instillation was created from the ceramic poppies (made in Stoke) that were displayed outside of the Tower of London. I think it’s lovely that they were brought home on their tour around the UK.
Although Middleport Pottery is close to home, I’d never actually ventured in – it’s such a hidden gem for photo ops!
Less about that and more about the outfit, ay? I had tonnes of comments on Instagram asking where bits were from so I’m here to tell you.
Head to toe is probably best to start, right?
The Shades
Let’s talk about these sunglasses* which were sent to me by the lovely team at Feel Good Contacts.
FeelGoodContacts are your one-stop eye-care shop, selling contact lenses, solutions, glasses and sunnies all at discounted rates. You don’t even need a prescription to purchase and can get 10% off your first order using BEFFS10!
The sunglasses I’m wearing are the O’Neill Shell Matte Tortoise Bronze Polaroid*. My usual prescription glasses are tortoise shell and I find them incredibly chic and easy to style with most things. I wanted to get some cute tortoise shell sunnies too, and after browsing their site and finding a few designs I liked, I turned to Instagram polls to let you guys decide! You made a fabulous choice.
O’Neill is a classic surfer brand, and I love that vibe – I think the tortoise shell gives them a bit of a vintage look, too. The round frame and ‘keyhole’ bridge makes them super comfortable to wear, as well as being 100% UV protected and polarised.
The RRP is £48, but FeelGoodContacts sell at the lower price of £40. Now, I’m guilty of constantly buying cheap, fashion shades, but the reality is that they don’t protect your eyes – not one bit. It’s definitely worth spending the extra and investing in some actual protective sunnies.
The Tee
Slogan tee’s with a subtle 90s vibe are making a comeback, and Primark has tonnes in right now. I picked up this ‘Sundays’ tee for just £4 and their new and improved sizing means it fits great too.
The Skirt
A lot of people were asking about the skirt, and I really hate to disappoint you but you can’t get them anymore! I got this from a store called ARK, from a brand called Hearts and Bows. It’s patchwork and suedette and the dreamiest skirt I own.
The Boots
I finished off the look with these Primark boots you may remember reading about here. They’re super comfortable and similar boots are still available for around £12.
Don’t forget you can use BEFFS10 for 10% off at FeelGoodContacts, and remember to invest in some protective sunglasses. Wearing cheap, funky shades is okay to snap a photo for the ‘gram, but you should really be wearing something like the O’Neill Shell Matte Tortoise Bronze Polaroid* for the rest of the day.
I nearly got the tee too and my other half said you can only wear it on Sundays haha x
Looking gorge as always Beff! That skirt is to die for, I’d try and steal it if i was half the size 😂 Adore the outfit from head to toe and the sunnies look so good on you too! Tortoise shell never goes out of style 😍
