Naturally, being fair-skinned and red-headed, my eyebrows and lashes are sheet white. No pigment whatsoever. None. Nada. This means I have to regularly tint them if I want to be able to leave the house with no makeup on without looking a little bit dead.
Do you know how blooming expensive it is to go to the salon every six weeks and get them done? Too blooming expensive is the answer.
I’ll probably go and get my brows done every six months, but in between I use Colorsport products to top up my tint. I’ve been using this brand for years, but they have recently updated the formula to be hydrogen peroxide free, as well as the application process.
Coloursport sent me their 30 Day Mascara and their 30 Day Brow Tint to try out.
30 Day Brow Tint
I use brow tint to darken my eyebrows and give them more definition, here you can see just how light my brows are before tinting:
The directions are so easy to follow that I’ll list them here:
- Don’t pluck your brows for 72 hours prior
- Clea brows with oil-free cleanser
- Mix the 1cm of Tint Cream with 10 small drops of Tint Developer Lotion
- Apply and leave for 1-2 minutes (max 5)
- Cleanse brows
How could it be any easier?
You just comb the product on using a spoolie, watch a video of a cute puppy cuddling a baby pig and BAM your brows are done.
Ready for the result?
I left my tint on for around three minutes and it was perhaps a little lighter than I would have liked. However I did notice they were darker the next morning, so I am assuming that the tint continues to develop. With this in mind, make sure to tint them a shade lighter and allow them chance to develop. You can always go darker, but you can’t lighten them up!
30 Day Mascara
I hate going to get my lashes tinted because my eyes always sting like hell when they’re doing it. I like to be in control of whatever is in or around my eyes, so home tinting is great for me. You might want to consider lash tinting if you have fair lashes, like myself, or just can’t be bothered to wear mascara everyday (also me).
Here’s how to use it:
- Cleanse lashes with oil-free cleanser
- Apply eye protection paper using Vaseline
- Dip cotton bud into Eyelash Colour Solution and apply to lashes. Leave for 1 minute. Do not rinse off
- Apply 1cm of Eyelash Colour Gel to the spoolie and apply to lashes and wait for 1 minute
- Remove with wet cotton wool pads
Voila – Done. No mess and no sting! Here’s how much my lashes changed!
This product can also be used as a brow tint, so you could actually just by the 30 Day Mascara alone and use it for both purposes.
So if you’re holding out ’til payday to book your tint in at the salon – don’t bother! For £8.25 you can get 16 applications out of your 30 Day Brow Tint (51p per tint!) and 12 tints from your 30 Day mascara (69p per tint!).
The tint will fade over time, and fall out as your lashes and brow hairs naturally fall out and regrow. It really is minimum effort and you can use both in less than 10 minutes.
I’m a fairly similar colouring to you (reddish hair, pale as heck) and I HATE that my eyebrows are so light because no matter what products I put on them, it looks very obviously drawn on and I’d love them to look a bit more natural so I’m DEFINITELY going to consider these products because the difference on your brows is fantastic! Although it’s not as dark as you’d have liked but personally I wouldn’t them to go too dark anyway. Great review and thank you for bringing these to my attention! xxx
It is actually crazy how much it changes your look, I didn’t know you were so fair! I don’t do anything to my brows as I’m so fair and they suit my hair but I’d for sure be using this if I did! I LOVE the look of the 30 day mascara as I am so slack with my makeup in Summer, I wear barely anything so this would be so bloody useful!

i’ve heard sooooo much about this range = the brow more than the lashes but the lash tint has reallly sold it to me!

Oh wow! I’d actually never heard about this range before… but you’ve sold me now! My eyelashes are the same as yours and I’m really struggling in the mascara department in this weather… so it would really be a lifesaver! Definitely doing this now! Your brows and lashes look stunning!
Fully impressed with the eyebrow tint! My brows are very fair too, however I don’t have time to go to town every 6 weeks to get them tinted. At the minute I use eyelure which does the job although I don’t get the result Im really lookin for (can’t decide if that’s because d how fair my eyebrows are though) but I’ll definitely give this a go!! Can’t wait for your future posts, fab blog x x
I actually really like the look of them both but I think I’d be scared to do them on my own?! x
Oh I have some of this! I’ve had it a while though so probably can’t get away with using it and I haven’t done before because I was too worried about how dark they would go ahah xx
So pretty and so natural! I never tried these because I would worry they’d end up too dark but these look really pretty

I have naturally dark eyelashes and eyebrows but my mum is really fair and often wants them tinted so I’ll recommend this kit to her. X
I’m desperate for my eyebrows to be done. I want to start doing them myself, so will look at these! x
I need to give these a try, my eyelashes and eyebrows are both so fair that I’m quite self-conscious going out without my brows filled in and mascara on.

Great post, one of my most viewed video is brow tinting. Even having dark hairs, doing a tint helps fill in those fine hairs in the brows haha x
