Bilou – The Tastiest Smelling Bath and Body Brand

When it comes to using shower and bath products, scent plays a huge part in my decision to purchase. Recently, I have loved the imperial Leather Strawberries and Cream and the Radox Shower Foam in Blood Orange and Ginger. I like to get out of the bath and the fragrance still linger on my skin for people to say ‘ooh, don’t you smell nice?!’ Hell yeah, I do.

For a couple of weeks, whenever I’ve been into Superdrug I have walked past the Bilou products and itched to buy one. I always put it off because I am trying to use up my older bath and body products before I purchase more. You may have seen Bilou in your local Superdrug, or on your favourite bloggers Instagram. Everyone is going mad for their 100% vegan, cruelty free products. When Bilou sent me a little goodie bag of PR Products I was totally made up with it and literally could not wait to use them.

I unboxed this with my mum and dad excitedly getting them to smell each product as I unwrapped it. Phoebe and Frank both tried to eat a product or two, but they were rescued unscathed. All of the Bilou products are £3.99, which may seem a little steep if you’re anything like me and usually buy a £1 or £2 shower gel. Allow me to reassure you that these products are 100% worth their price.

Fizzy Berry 2 in 1 Bodyspray

Ever wanted a deodorant that smells as good as a body spray but doesn’t choke the back of your throat as you spritz away? Voila. Hello Bilou. The 2 in 1 bodyspray comes in two fragrances. Fizzy Berry and Coco Cocktail, which is a coconut scent. Fizzy Berry smells like fizzy strawberry laces with a hint of lemon and can be used as both a light deodorant as well as a sweetly scented bodyspray. There is no alcohol in it, and is really hydrating and nourishing for dry skin. Buy it here!

Pink Melon Creamy Shower Foam

I wouldn’t usually pick up a melon scented product, but Bilou has made me reconsider. This Pink Melon shower foam is the perfect summer scent of melon and raspberry and all things sunny. The shower foams come in all five of the Bilou fragrances, including Fizzy Berry, Coco Coconut, Tasty Donut and Cotton Candy. The thick foam lathers beautifully and moisturises your skin as you massage it in. This Pink Melon Creamy Shower Foam smells just like sour watermelon sweets! Buy it here!

Tasty Donut Creamy Shower Foam

This product is the reason Bilou put ‘Bilou Shower Foam is not suitable for consumption’ in bold on their packaging. This smells of freshly baked donuts with strawberry icing. I wish you could smell it through the screen. This one wasn’t part of my Bilou PR Package, but I was desperate to try it out so purchased it myself from Superdrug. These shower foams literally melt the day’s stress out of your skin and can also be used as a soft and soothing shower cream. Buy it here!

Cotton Candy Gentle Cream Foam

I was under the impression that this was another shower foam, perhaps aimed at more sensitive skin with the description saying ‘gentle’. However, it’s actually a moisturiser in foam format! You pump it into your hand and massage into dry skin for almost instant moisture. I have never heard of foam moisturisers so this was a total first for me. Whilst I love the format, I’m not crazy for the Cotton Candy fragrance. It’s not overly sweet or caramelly as the packaging describes, so could be great if you prefer a more subtle scent. I think I would have preferred the Fizzy Berry fragrance for this moisturising foam. Despite the scent, the product works really well and is very hydrating. I am hoping it will clear up a little of my eczema that’s flared up with the change in weather. Buy it here!

Bilou could have easily become a teen-targeted brand with childish scents which quickly dissipated from the market. Instead, they have managed to nail cool yet elegant branding with delicious scents that everyone loves. For me, they tick all of the boxes. When I eventually use all of their products up I’ll certainly be repurchasing.
