Originally £30, but currently on offer at Boots with £10 off, it stands out as one of the best budget-friendly offerings this year. But cheap doesn’t have to mean naff, with many of the products inside the 25-day countdown already making their way into my makeup bag (I was never actually going to hold out until December, was I?)
The overall theme leans heavily into party-ready makeup, with a mix of products that cater to festive glam, making it a refreshing change from some of the other affordable calendars, which seem to be targeted towards a younger audience.
Ideal for festive events, the calendar features glam-giving products like false lashes and a sparkling eye topper that are ideal for Christmas and New Year parties. A classic red lipstick is a fundamental part of the festive season for pairing with little black dresses and sequins, and Profusion delivers on that front too, with a bold, matte formula that will no doubt get a number of outings before the year is through.
The full-size nine-pan eyeshadow palette is a highlight for me. This palette’s neutral tones make it highly wearable and adaptable for different occasions and styles, while the combination of matte and shimmer finishes make it easy to transition from day to night looks.
Other really thoughtful additions to the calendar include a handbag-friendly setting spray for touch ups on the go, as well as a pack of blotting papers for keeping shine at bay, especially during long holiday celebrations.
As a cream blush girly, the blush stick has the potential to become a favourite thanks to its creamy, blendable formula, while the juicy lip tint feels really modern and on-trend.
