The demand for beauty advent calendars has been rapidly increasing each year, but many of them can prove to be rather expensive. And as the curiosity of teens and tweens also grows, finding a calendar that is both age-appropriate and affordable can be difficult to find – but it’s something that budget-friendly beauty brand, Revolution, has successfully delivered.
After selling out last year, the Revolution calendar is back with a 24-piece collection of makeup treats. Retailing at £33.60, down from £48, with a total value worth £97, this affordable calendar packs in a solid selection of Revolution’s products that are perfect for bulking out your makeup bag, gifting as stocking fillers, or as a festive countdown for younger beauty enthusiasts.
The 2024 edition includes a variety of products that cover all the beauty essentials. Lip enthusiasts will be pleased with the range, featuring two highly pigmented glosses, including the everyday-friendly Brunch – a highly pigmented taupe nude – and high shine Divine, which is more of a warm brown. There are also two Revolution Satin Kiss Lipsticks in shades Heartrace Nude and Cupcake Pink, paired with matching Satin Kiss Lip Liners in Chauffeur Nude and Divine – and the formula for these is impressive for the price, too. They’re super-smooth and richly pigmented, and can be paired with a lipstick, or worn alone with lip oil – also included in the calendar. And after you’ve finished trying them all out, there’s even a nourishing and super-fruity strawberry lip mask to help keep your lips in tip-top condition.
Though eight of the 24 products are lip-focused, there’s still plenty of variety. The standout item for many is the Beam Bright Highlighter in Pink Seduction. Known for its silky texture and stunning, lit-from-within glow, this product was a hit on TikTok, so its inclusion feels like a real win. That said, it feels like Revolution missed a chance to showcase even more of their viral launches, like the highly praised Jelly Blushes, Bronzing Drops, or the Miracle Water Cream.
The complexion products are well-rounded: from the Mini Beauty Blender for seamless application to the Loose Baking Powder, known for its brightening and blurring properties. The Mini Blusher Reloaded in Pink Lady and the Blush Bomb in Cute Pink give an instant healthy glow, while the Powder Puff is ideal for a flawless finish. Plus, the Clear Brow Gel and Kohl Eyeliners (in both black and brown) are everyday essentials that will effortlessly slot into any makeup bag.
It was a bit disappointing that there isn’t a full-sized eyeshadow palette this year, as I got so much use out of the 12-pan palette in last year’s countdown. There is, however, the Mini Reloaded Palette, offering a fun pink and purple colour theme. While most of the products in the calendar can no doubt be used by beauty fans of all ages, it is choices like this which seem to lean slightly towards a younger demographic, appealing to those who love playful and sparkly makeup looks.
What I will say though, is that the Rhinestone Stickers are absolutely a bit of me. They’re perfect for festive makeup and party season hairstyles, as well as summer music festivals.

For seasoned beauty buffs, the calendar may leave some wanting more, but it’s a fantastic entry-level beauty calendar that, while budget friendly, still promises plenty of exciting beauty moments.
