Next week is December (December!!!) and that means Christmas parties will soon be in full swing. With Christmas parties comes one of the biggest decisions of the season: the outfit. You need to look festive, yet fashionable, and with money a little tight due to accidental overspend on Christmas gifts for yourself, you need to keep it as low-cost as possible.
Over the next month I will be posting a series of Christmas Party Lookbooks featuring my favourite festive outfits for the party season. And after trawling the Warehouse party wear category, I found the perfect top to go with the outfit I had envisioned.
The rainbow trend didn’t just have to be a summer style. Bring it into your Christmas party wardrobe with this sparkly party wear polo neck top (£29). This lightweight high neck top is somewhere between a top and light jumper, and is very comfortable to wear. It’s adorned with multi-coloured tinsel inspired vertical stripes for a flattering and slimming look.
If you want to be even more extra, there is a cute wrap-waist bodycon dress (£49) available in the same material.
I wore my tinsel tee tucked into my beloved Topshop velvet flares. I bought these in the Boxing Day sales last year after falling in love with them during my personal shopping experience. These crushed velvet trousers hug the booty and thighs, flaring out at the bottom. This elongates the legs making them appear thinner. You can shop a similar pair here for £22.
To accessorise, I wore these brand new Freedom at Topshop ‘Festive AF’ tinsel earrings. These matched the Warehouse top so perfectly that I could not resist spending £8.50 on them. I will be wearing these for the entirety of December regardless of the event because they are just fabulous.
I paired the look with my red Primark suedette ankle boots, since these flares can’t be worn with flats, and my NA-KD croc print bag. You can read more about the bag here.
This look is super comfortable and leaves no skin on show, so perfect for those colder night out. This is my go-to when I’m not feeling my most body-confident, as it makes me feel super sassy without getting anything out.
