How to look good on a lazy day with Cara and the Sky

This is my lazy day look. On Saturday I went to meet a friend for coffee, then another for lunch and pottered about doing a little shopping. In years gone by, I’d have done this in a pair of Adidas leggings and an oversized tee, but who said lazy had to mean slob?

This is one of my favourite outfits to wear this Autumn, as it injects colour and happiness into the look. It’s warm, put-together yet still casual. You can wear it to go shopping, to a gig (personal fave) or to just feel like you’ve got your life together.

Let me take you through the look.

This grungy cut out tee from Everything5Pounds really gives that alternative, edgy vibe. I ordered a size 10, as the site said it came up small. It’s perfect for tucking the front into a pair of jeans.

My jeans are from ASOS, and previously had a waxy coated layer. This faded following a number of washes and tumble dries. They still fit amazing, and have gained a slightly distressed look over the past four years (including a ripped pocket that I really should sew).

I accessorise these with my western buckle belt, also from New Look. This belt goes with practically everything, and has a similar distressed look thanks to it being so versatile.

In keeping with the western vibe, I threw on my grey snake print pointed Chelsea Boots. They’d been in the boot of my car until I binge watched 100 Helen Anderson vlogs and dug them back out, inspired by her rock ‘n’ roll style.

Now, let’s talk about the PINK. I was never a pink girl until I turned about 20. Saying that, I was opposed to sequins, frills and glitter – but I love them now, too.

This chunky knit cardigan is from Cara and the Sky*, an independent brand stocking the coolest small batch knitwear. I’m wearing a medium, which is a 10-12, for a slightly more oversized look. The hot pink injects colour into the gloomy autumn months, and matches perfectly with the Brimstone Rockstar hat.

The Cara and the Sky cardigan is super soft and feels so luxe, and the cable and pointelle detail is gorgeous. Even the buttons are pretty, with a pink opal look.

The Rockstar by Brimstone is a stunning fuchsia fedora featuring an aztec band and purple marabou feathers. The pink matches the Cara and the Sky cardigan almost identically, with the purple pairing with the accents in the cut out tee.

It’s perfect for gigs, and even better for festivals, but in November we’re a little past the summer festival scene. It’s finished with a silver chain to add a bit of something extra, because I am, as you know, e x t r a.
