Eat Out to Help Out in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire

I’ve missed dining out so much during lockdown, and combined with a desperate need to support independent businesses, the Eat Out to Help Out scheme was welcomed with open arms. I’ve drooled on my phone screen far too many times scrolling through the menus of my favourite restaurants pondering what I’ll order when I next visit.

The new government scheme Eat Out to Help Out launches on Monday (August 3), and will see more than 100 restaurants, pubs and cafes in Staffordshire offer huge discounts on meals.

The initiative runs until August 31 and provides a much-needed £30bn injection into the hospitality industry which was devastated by the pandemic.

How Eat Out to Help Out works

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout August, eateries are offering a 50% off incentive to help boost the sector and encourage people to support the industry.

Whilst many chains have signed up to the initiative, it will be of great benefit to independents in Staffordshire, who can claim the discounted 50% from the government.

The scheme offers 50% off food and non-alcoholic drinks up to the vale of £10 per person. It’s accesible to all with no minimum spend and can be used in conjunction with other offers. You can take advantage of the offer as many times as you like, and it’s advised to book a table at most venues due to demand.

Participating restaurants, pubs and cafes in Staffordshire

Below is a list of eateries in Staffordshire categorised by area, including Hanley, Newcastle, Biddulph, Leek, Burslem, Tunstall, Longton and Fenton.

I’ve tried to provide as much information as possible and will continue to update as more information becomes available.

If you’re a Staffordshire based restaurant, pub or cafe that would like to be included on the list, please email me at [email protected]

Chains such as McDonalds and KFC have been left off the list, but more information on participating chains restaurant can be found using the Government’s handy postcode search tool.

The Pavilion Café The Pavillion opened this spring, and Mum and I managed to sneak a visit in just before lockdown for a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea. After their afternoon tea, I couldn’t stop thinking about their scones and sausage rolls.
