Five lipsticks you need for spring

Spring means we can start cracking out the cute tea dresses and spring florals and pack away the burgundy lipstick and teddy bear coats. I’m kinda in denial about having to put my fluffy coat into hibernation, but I’m excited to bring the oversized denim jackets out of the back of the wardrobe.

Now it’s brightening up a little, I’ve been aiming for that glowing-from-within-complexion, going easy on the eyes and reaching for the nude and peachy lipstick. I’m here to share my fave go-to shades!

Mac lipstick

MAC, Velvet Teddy (£17.50)

This is the lipstick I will never stop repurchasing. I think it’s the first lip product I’ve ever actually gotten to the end of! That must make it my most used product, like, ever? I’m on my third tube now. It’s a gorgeous mid-nude and MAC lip product formulas are my absolute fave so it’s a win-win because you don’t have to compromise between comfort and colour.

Tanya Burr, Pink Fondant (£5.99)

This is the lip gloss that changed my view on all lip glosses. I previously thought the gloss look wasn’t for me and should have been left in the 90’s. I’m a matte lip kinda girl. When I tried this shade on, I saw the light. The gloss isn’t too sticky or uncomfortable to wear, but is a beautiful peachy colour that adds a little shine to your look. It looks perfect with the Natural Collection Peach Blush.

Rimmel Stay Matte, Blush (£5.99)

Alex gave me this when she thought it wasn’t her shade. It’s not a shade I’d normally pick up myself, but it think it’s a really nice colour for the season! It’s much more of a pink pink than a muted one, so it a little brighter than the other lipsticks but it’s still very pretty. The Stay Matte liquid lipsticks are really creamy, not too dissimilar a formula than the NYX soft matte lip creams.

No7 High Shine Lip Gloss, Sparkling Rose (£9.00)

This is a fab little product that I like to wear in two different ways, both on its own or as a topper over another lippy. It’s relatively translucent with only a slight peach tint but lots of shimmer which is adorbs. Little hack for you all though. The full size product is £9.00 at Boots, but they still have No7 High Shine Lip Gloss, Sparkling Rose left over from Christmas for £4.25!

L'oreal Lipstick

L’Oreal Colour Riche, 640 Erotique (£7.99)

This was the pink that got me into pink lipsticks. It’s a satin kind of finish that’s comfortable to wear. I think it has a really innocent/English rose look about it and it matches the accent colours in my little yellow playsuit perfectly.

I don’t know how I’ve managed to get through life without owning Velvet Teddy?! It seems to be everyone’s go to lip colour, so I may need to finally invest.. 😍 I adore the Rimmel Stay Matte formula though! 🙊

I’m a huge fan of Velvet Teddy, it’s such a unique nude. I like the look of the L’Oreal one too so I might have to give that one a go. x
